Re: 305 iroc vs 08 srt4 caliber

well mine isnt an auto or should i say wasnt.... it was a t56. and idk maybe everyone i know is wrong but its funny all you guys on here talking about mid-high 12s on cam only cars with nothing else. idk if b-bodys and all are that much different or what but i guess me and 20-30 other people i know with cam only camaros and firebirds arent cutting those numbers and all

and sorry when someone says CAM ONLY i think just that CAM ONLY, not 1.6 RRs or gears or stall or heads or anything i think literally CAM ONLY i Fing hate when people say that oooo ive got a cam only camaro but ive had 1.6 RRs with a 58mm TB A/C Delete long tubes full exhaust with slicks and gears...... well then its not a CAM only car lol

Cam only is the generally accepted term for a car that has no other internal work done it. Visit a drag strip and talk about a cam-only car and its a given that it has the supporting bolt-ons like full exhaust, cold air intake...etc. See the LS1tech threads about "cam only" LS1s. ALL of them have supporting bolt-ons installed.

These are all mods that any sane person should do before cam'ing a car. There is plenty to be had before diving into the engine internals itself. Bolt-ons also compliment the cam and often give more power together as a whole than simply installing a larger cam with nothing else done.

Once all of the bolt-ons are done cam and/or headwork is the next step, its one of the most expensive steps. Head work is usually last because either you are replacing the head, porting the head, or replacing it with a ported aftermarket head. Which adds up fast.

I know it's not the quite the same.. but they all get grouped together... having owned a couple in my day I can tell you: NEVER underestimate a Turbo Dodge... And the SRT4s are nastier yet..
