Re: 91 firebird vs 90 corvette
I have a 90 corvette. all stock. It runs pretty good. Just before I got the vette, I had a 3rd gen with a somewhat similar setup as your describing with a few differences
305
750 holley
edelbrock perfomer
Cam -- the old 327 --350 hp standard, not the greatest but not a bad cam.. i think 222 @ 50 duration
oh and exhaust.
it had a fresh 3.73 gear and posi
th 350 trans with a stout shift kit
and a 2200 stall converter
This camaro ran top notch, i had a lot of fun with it, in fact more fun than I had in much faster cars. Not that it was slow, it ran pretty decent. I raced it against a few other cars and it held its own. Beat a 5.0 with a 5 speed , and my other camaro at the time with a old 350.
As far as racing the vette. Well as good as the camaro ran. It just didn't have the steam to outpower the vette.

Re: 91 firebird vs 90 corvette
the lo5 came out of my 1995 k1500, from the factory it came with a 305tbi, for now im running the 350 on the tbi but im getting ready to put a carb on top and do a head and cam swap with the aforementioned parts. i do love my car, and although the vette is a nice looking fast car, i dont think i would trade my firebird for it

The fireburd should win cuz it's a year newer and probably has better components and stuff. The computer alone probably has 500mb more ram

Re: 91 firebird vs 90 corvette
it runs pretty good, the motor had 200,xxx miles on it, but the pistons looked brand new still had the casting ridges on the skirt, so i re ringed them, got the block hot tanked and put it together with fresh bearings, put a stock cam in it, and redid the heads. Its always nice to see a fellow michigander on these boards. maybe when the weather turns nice i can finally get my car out
