88 350 Iroc Z vs. 2 mustangs
ok, so my brother in law owns 2 stangs, an 88 5.0 5spd Lx, thing sounds like its got an exhaust leak, and isn't running as good as it should, only thing done to it is headers and a crappy no name cold air intake, his other car is a 94 GT 5.0 5 spd, completely stock, and a messed up input shaft in his tranny that causes his throw out bearing to whine, my Iroc has got the 350, 4spd auto, flowmaster catback with cat removed, posi 2.77 rear, aluminum drive shaft, highly ported SLP runners, and Pilot sport tires, he says he can take me because hes got a stick shift, but I think I could take him, wat do u guys think?

You should take him.... Just crush him off the line. I haven't had a mustang beat me off the line yet... And is your plenum ported? If not, the ported runners are useless.

no there not....not with tpi....I know of a local 89 with 2.77's, Flowmaster cat-back, and K&N's, and rebuilt 700 with a 2200stall(basically and RV tranny build) that would run 14.1 all day at 96-97mph all day..

I ran a 14.0@98mph with my bolt on L98 and 2.77's. Stock stall also with street tires.

Race from a dig and Both those wannabe stangs will be a thing of the past.. when i had my 350TBI swap (stock everything except garbage shorty headers and **** catback) and i beat a 93' Fox from a roll. Now i can put a fox into its grave after first gear(I pull an easy length after just first gear) lol

LOL ok fellas! i did not say it would not run. trust me i had TPIs when they were new.
the very few w/2.77 gears that run decent....however the car will run better w/3.23s.....
as i stated the Lx should get you but the 94 needs all kinds of help just to keep up...
'93 cobra convertable hmmm thats a new one.

How about you just race him, and then thats the factor of who was right. I think you can beat him.

well, i plan to race him in late spring, hes a pretty decent driver, tho I have seen him grind the gears on his Gt before (he was trying to speed getting into Spokane, WA going about 90) and the LX's clutch is prolly almost dead, because you have to press it in almost all the way for it to engage

I still think the IROC will win. Will be close with the Fox but i think it will pull it...

As far as i'm concerned a L05 taking a 302 that ppl claim will take the L98 is pretty good lol.
