3rd Gen Camaro vs 4th Gen Firebird

ok so this is just a theoretical match between the non-350 v8 camaro and the v6 3.8 series2 Firebird (84 vs 02), both Auto transmissions. ive drivin both and the fire bird has a sluggish start off but once it gets to around 25-30 it gets goin (not flooring it) and the v8 has instant responce and great take off but from driving both i feel like the fire bird could take it on a strait run just my opinion, and wonder what you others thought, theres not really anything extra on both worth mentioning.

give u my . when i had my 89 lb9 auto, i raced my friend 00 camaro 3.8v6 5 speed, and he blew my doors away from a dead stop. My lb9 was bored .030 and flowmaster exhaust. other then that, it was fairly stock. my friends 00 camaro v6 had flowmaster exhaust only.

if the 3.8 has that performance package you lose! If he doesn't you will win (maybe)

look for rear disc brakes, dual tailpipes ... If it has the dual tailpipes it probably has the performance package which will mean it has 3.42 gears like my 97 camaro and it is very quik out of the hole but gets slugish after like 60.

if the 3.8 get a quik jump on you, you will have a hard time catching up and your V-8 will really have to work for the win.

when I bought my 97 new I saw other 97 with the single tailpipe and drove one and they cant stay with one with the 3.42 gears simple as that.
