Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
My dyno came up with 586rwhp@ 7300rpm 460rwtq@ 6400rpm, but through theory the car runs like it should dyno 800rwhp going off of the 3650lb weight and 140mph trap speed. I have a video of that actually: http://s50.photobucket.com/player.sw...fs=1&os=1&ap=1 Only real exotic parts are the big solid roller cam, the fuel injection (not really required for the power), and Procharger I was running. Anything you want to know should be at: http://www.fbody.com/timeslips/member.cgi?id=845 Been working on the turbo setup for this comming season in the idea of being able to run an 8.5 e.t.

you should ask the same question in the power adders section. as for me I am in the same boat as pyroviking stock l98 but my paint adds at least 400hp...just wait till I buff and add pin stripes.

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
i was running anywhere from 375-400rwhp depending on weight.. through a choked exhaust, extremely old cam design (flat tappet with 260/260 duration, wayyy too large), and not the best heads.. never took it to a dyno and never weighed it.. next 383 motor should be upwards of 500-525rwhp.. or if i go LSX, i'll be looking for at least 550rwhp..

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
im going to guss 300hp
4 bolt 350
mild cam (rv2 i think)
weiand dual plane intake
holly double pumper
shorty headers with straight pipes
correct me if im wrong but i think this combo should make at least 300, it nothing crazy or anything to brag about but it sure is fast for a street car
soon to come:
bigger cam
electric fan
electric water pump
possible some aluminum heads (probibly just going to get some used iron 202's and mill/port them)

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
dont have any numbers for my 2.8L firebird, but heres the scoop on my LT4 corvette:
- hotcam
- tune
- 5 angle valve job (no other head work)
- port matched intake manifold
- muffler elims
- some free mods
car made 344rwhp on a dynojet... calculating a 15% loss thru the drivetrain puts that at roughly 405hp

On one of my 91's is ****ed so no horsepower there but my other '91 has a rebuilt 350 with a nice cam and I would say she is about 250 - 300 hp or maybe I am being a bit to modest. Once my buddy gets his dyno working at his shop I will get some real numbers for you guys and nt just some random bull ****.

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
I have a couple summit racing stickers on my air cleaner and a chevy sticker on the back window, so I have to be making about 1000 + hp.

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
Just dynoed mine today and it made 382rwhp and 425rwtq with very little timing and no nitrous. It should make over 400rwhp with some more timing.

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
I am estimating currently around 300 hp for the LT1 in my '79
Forged pistons, bored .030" and 10.8:1 compression
Crane 227 roller cam, fairly mild, popular with the b-body fellows
Freshened up heads, just rebuilt the motor.
Headers, fairly free flowing exhaust
Stock tune, stock injection for a '93 z28
Should be able to get a little more power out of it with a tune, maybe 320? Then I'll be looking at some spray, hoping to make low 12s eventually. With 4.10 gears in the rear I think its achievable. Looking for 13s n/a
It is a handful compared to my 91 TBI pickup, which makes 160-170 hp new, and its basically stock with 154k miles...

Hard to say if when someone is really truthful or they actually don't know.. 1000hp is a very respectful number, just not on a stock 350.. LOL

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
I'm not quite sure I have a 305 H.O. but with a Holley Projection TBI, Raven Exhaust, no cat( where did that thing go?), Bosh Platinum/IR Fusion plugs, ACCEL racing plug wires. stock is 190hp but I'm not stock, I'm guessing 210-230 depending on conditions. I do have allot more planed for the motor. New headers definitely, because the smog pump stuff was gutted. New intake manifold eventually, I have the ability to port and polish so ill prolly port match the TBI to intake and then intake to heads. I got all summer to plan and work on it. Maybe Twin Turbo, or 500 shot of nitrus? Auxilary Turbines?

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
My third gen is an easy guess, 0hp/0tq. No motor or trans, but am hoping to be able to transplant a LS1/T-56 combo ranging around 500 hp/tq. My second gen I'm going to guess in the neighborhood of 300 to 350 hp/tq, unfortunately there is no dyno around here for me to know for sure.

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
I never dynoed my Camaro, but based on what the 1/4 mile speed is it is running between 398 and 401hp at the motor. On the nitrous (also based on the 1/4 mph) it is making about 545hp (on a 150 shot). This is at 3525lbs in full street trim.
I can only guess that it makes about 330 to 340hp at the wheels on the motor.

550hp 1200 torque.
no really.... but that's in my tow rig with some ridiculous mods and money.
"black Camaro" has a 235hp mild cam 350 in the garage sitting on ice.
"Red Z-28, prolly 325+ to rear, have big plans to make up for that with deap deap gears soon, I'm thinking 5.56

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
Stock a l03 305 tbi pushed maybe 170-180HP. If it really is stock then thats what it has, or the v6. Why do you think you have a 350 stock?

Re: Whats your estimated horsepower?
The L03 that I had in my car previously made 200hp at the wheels with a Turbo City TBI, S/R Torquer 305 heads, Edelbrock TBI intake and a Crane Cam with 1.6 roller rockers. It was ok but not good enough. Then came the 383....

****... Well I'm glad I came here now. I always wondered if It was that good (The speedometer only goes to 110...) But my dad was like, Yeah! 240 hp easy!
I feel kinda embarrassed now.. I wish I'd have asked someone before saying something like that.

Just an FYI a 350 and a 305 look identical on the outside so that pic does us no good. I'm pretty sure that you couldn't get a L05 engine in a camaro from the factory. About the only way they could have bought it off the lot with a 350, is for the dealer to swap out the 305 before selling it.

Stock double triangle sbc heads with comp valve springs
Cam 480 lift
crank and rods are stock.
Edelbrock Perfromer rpm with edelbrock 650 performer carb
It pulls stock c5 z06's. So it does alright for a budget build. Lets say 290whp
If i keep it...I will eventually run a little wilder set up. Afr 210's, forged crank and rods, cam around 560's lift.
