Popular with me from the start. Their drummer was inspiring to me. (also an avid drummer)

I use to play drums religiously, then I caught the guitar bug... I played for 5 years. Own a 1970's ludwig vistalite 12piece kit with all zildjian cymbals and dw 5000 doubles.

Re: why do honda/import "tuner" people think their stuff is fast
Just to play devils advocate here I joined the site in highschool and I dont feel i was very ignorant lol I've had a few posts that were close but we all have, age is a small factor in maturity, and maturity doesn't exactly correlate with knowledge I was fairly deep into sbc's because I had to, my first vehicle was a carb'd 82 silverado and I had to fix it. Then it just became a hobby for me, and then an addiction once I got the camaro lol very slippery slope.... In any case I'm not defending jayhawk by any means the posts I've read are just to pick fights which is why this site has gone downhill from when i joined because everyone is a " 6'6" 900lb mma fighter" behind the keyboard lol

16 (including 2 splashes) piece yamaha custom maple set. All sabian cymbals. I too play a guitar. I started on piano (9 years of lessons) But drumming is where my heart is. Hence my profile name of musicfreako...

I should specify. Both the Blue and orange are Kramer guitars. Blue one is a basic fender knock off. The orange ones head stock rolls down, not up.

I've acquired all this over the last 45 years (I'm 58 now) and played pretty steadily up till 2004. Lately it's been just a hobby but one I have enjoyed my whole life.

Re: why do honda/import "tuner" people think their stuff is fast
With out a doubt, maple kits sound the best. I have a Premier Signia kit (10, 12 & 13 rack, 16 & 18 floor with a 22 x 18 bass) that I bought back in 93. I (generally as I have several) use a Ludwig Black Beauty for my primary snare and I have 2 cymbal safe's worth of cymbals (depends on what I'm playing) but I usually use a mix of A & K Zildian (crashes), Sabian (ride and splashes) and (usually) the sweetest sounding set of 14" UFIP hi-hat cymbals I've ever heard.
I've acquired all this over the last 45 years (I'm 58 now) and played pretty steadily up till 2004. Lately it's been just a hobby but one I have enjoyed my whole life.

Come on guys this thread is so last year.
Honestly why should they lock it down? this thread has become like the lounge in some chats. This way we are able to take our crap out in just one place rather then have it spill out all over the board.

Makes some sense, but... not as much as if you had a third gen.

Re: why do honda/import "tuner" people think their stuff is fast
To make people like you ask questions.
Btw I don't own a honda anymore. Granted still don't own a thirdgen and for that matter I actually don't own any car anymore. But that's the way life goes. six shooter has it about summed up though. I came here for tech info and to help a friend out who owned a thirdgen and this site didn't have a qualification for being a member saying I myself had to own a thirdgen so figured it was worth while to join :-)

Re: why do honda/import "tuner" people think their stuff is fast
Truth be told I'll bet your Honda was quicker off the line than my 89 RS was.
I sold the 89 when it got up to 225,xxx miles on the odometer, still with the original stone stock drive train. Used that $$$ to buy a 98 Z28 that I used as a DD for years. I had another car to keep the miles off of the 02 which I was using the 02 as a mildly modded (external mods only) race car. Sold the 98 with 184,xxx on it when I moved back to Cali (I was living in AZ at the time). Put the 02 back to stock. It now has 55,xxx on it.
Like you said, you don't need a 3rd gen to be on the site. I may buy another if I can find a stockish one for the right price.

Re: why do honda/import "tuner" people think their stuff is fast
I've Had the same problem since I moved to this town. Civics, Integras, Cavaliers, Sunfires, Etc. :-/ They pull up, sideways hat, pants halfway down their ***, rust pail for a car. But its always makes me laugh because they slump, fart can exhaust humming away. :-/ And the cars I actually want to go against, dont ever want to race. Flawed logic. :-/

Doubt my honda was faster off the line. Even when I had all 3bbls of that carb opened up and dump the clutch it wouldn't go that fast.
biggest problems was the carb needed to be rebuilt or replaced. Bought a ford version of a webber that I was going to rebuild just never got around to it. The other one was the dizzy had issues with the springs being worn out and couldn't find any to replace them with. so with that my timing was all over the place.
Will say though was about the most laid back car I have ever driven. Even if you shifted gears a little too early and the rpms got low it still chugged away and never acted like it was lugging. Much different then my rx7 was. That thing hated low rpms.

Does it count as an import if it has a body made by the Swedes and a GM motor?
