385 TA vs Ninja 600
I was out in NY by Troy on 787 and saw an new model ninja 600 merge onto the highway
i got on it to get next to him about 50mph, the road opens to 3 lanes and we took off, pulled him in third and hit 4th around 100mph, round a hundred i pullled about 4 car lengths to 130 when i let off. Slowed back down to bout 80 he came by thumbs up before he exited the next ramp about a mile later. Couldnt tell if he really got on it but when we started out he got about a cars length before I hit 3rd and pulled back past him. This sounds a little off especially higher speeds like this, I know theres some fast ninjas at the track by me running mid 12's. I though he would blow me away but i guess not
any ideas on what was going on, I would be happy if it was a legit kill but wanted to get someones

Re: 385 TA vs Ninja 600
what year ninja? my buddies 06 Yamah r6 pulls low 11s easy. he walked a 07 ZO6 vette down the highway, sounds like a shitty bike or biker lol not that your car is a slowch but if u do the power to weight ratio of say my buddys bike with gas and him (right around 600lbs) and it makes 130 hp, to get the same ratio with say a 3600lb fbody with gas and driver u would need to make about 789 hp its insane....

idk what it was, i thought it was a little wierd too but its a new model bike like a 04-05 600cc, and he had a little on me until i hit 100 but i thought he would have excelled at a higher speed

Re: 385 TA vs Ninja 600
awesome man, some older bikes are not that fast and you should have no problem with them... some newer 600's tho are very close to high 10's stock at over 125 mph
sounds like you ran a older bike
ps, you run your car at the track yet? i know your from PA and ive seen your car before

Naaa, come down here. Houston Raceway Park is the best track in Texas, most of the US. I built a 383 with Dart 230cc heads and built it for Nitrous.

Yeah Orr, havent had a chance to get out there yet, I go to college in RI so I don't get home that much, just got the chance to take it on a road trip, If i get the chance I might go this wednesday when I get back if its not rained out again

I love the tko600, just be careful who you order from, I got mine from Keisler and the first tranny case cracked and I had to get another + customer service isnt great and it took almost 3 months for a replacement let alone the month and a half it took for the original to arrive, almost 5 months with my car off the road 2 years ago. Like i said excellent tranny bulletproof, they make great clutches too, mines good to about 650hp 750lb tq. Just do your research on the middle man company between youself and tremec

Re: 385 TA vs Ninja 600
I would guess it had to be something from mid to early 90's (not sure what years they had the 600s. or it could be a newer 250 since there seems to be a ton of those in ninjas) my 600rr is a mid 11 second bike with me driving. any real driver should be a good bit faster

Re: 385 TA vs Ninja 600
i know so many riders that can't shift worth anything. it helps that i work in the motorcycle industry. i'd say 90% won't put their bike in the power band and shift around 9k. that could be the case here.

Re: 385 TA vs Ninja 600
It could be that you raced an inexperienced rider. Alot of people would get a 600cc sports bike, thinking that it is a good beginners bike. Personally, I don't think that it is such a good idea. It is possible that he chickened out, or did not put the bike into its power band.
