Raced a 944 turbo

So this last sunday I was going golfing with a buddy of mine and on the way I came across this guy in a red porsche 944 turbo. He was weaving in and out of traffic and was trying to race everything in his way. I waited until traffic cleared up, and then moved in the right lane, he was in the left. As I neared the guy at about 44 mph and was at his rear bumper, the guy downshifted and gunned it. I dropped it into third and gunned it too. I pulled hard and kept pulling away from him all the way through third gear. When I shifted into fourth the guy was half a car length behind me. I let off around 95 mph.

I know that those 944 turbos can be potent performers but I was happy that my car was not running too badly. I don't have very many mods. I have a 91 G92 5 speed formula with the following mods:
K&N filter with air foil
muffler eliminater
MSD ignition
centerforce dual friction clutch
and power pulleys.

Does anybody know how fast these porsches run in the quarter mile?

Re: Raced a 944 turbo

I hate when people drive like that, weaving and cutting people off like they're the coolest thing since air conditioning . . .

Good job putting him in his place

Porsche's aren't really that impressive in straight line performance. The 911's dip into the 12s I believe though.

944's times range from mid 14's to 16 flat depending on the year and engine.
