My 1990 Camaro RS 305 700R4 vs my 1997 Honda Prelude 5spd?
So who wins? I'm going to say my Prelude due to being a 5spd, lighter, and having better traction. Technically they are even in the 0-60 test (7.1~7.2s). The Camaro V8 weighs close to 3500lbs and the Prelude weighs about 2800lbs. The weight difference is quite large. The Camaro has 170bhp and 255lb.ft. and the Prelude has 195bhp and 156lb.ft. So take into consideration the weight for the power differences and its about even?
Power to weight ratio...assuming 3500lbs for the Camaro and 2800lbs for the Prelude.
Camaro = 0.048571428571429
Prelude = 0.069642857142857
The Camaro has everything before 2500RPMS and the Prelude has everything above 5500RPMS. So, removing the mileage on both cars and assuming they came right off the showroom floor with 100 miles on the odometer who would win in a drag race? Both 0-60mph and ¼mi.

P.S. I didn't see a "General" forum either to post about stuff non-3rd gen related. Did I miss it? I wanted to post my new toy.
Here's the two beasts in question:

i raced a 93 h23 non-vtec 5-speed prelude in my 91 firebird 305TBI auto, 2.73 gears and it wasnt even close. went from several different speeds and every time the prelude would pull on me fairly hard.

My buddy had an 1997 or so Prelude SH with a 5 speed, it was pretty close even with my 305 TPI. My car was just a bit faster, even with my 2.73 gears and slush box. I think the Prelude should take the TBI car. I have been in his car when he floors it, those Vtecs take off and pull pretty hard, especially for a four bangy.

The prelude has better gearing that will take advantage of it's lower torque output. Even the base model Prelude with the non Vtec engine should outrun a TBI Camaro unless some extensive mod work is done to it.

97-2001 all preludes had vtec, and the earlier vtecs were faster than the newer so deff make sure u dont race a 92-96 vtec, i had one

I've driven a 94 non Vtec Prelude with a 5 speed, with over 250,000 on the clock it would have absolutly raped my old TBI car and that car was fast for a TBI 305.

The Prelude wins unless work has been done to the TBI Camaro. My little brother has a 99 Perelude and he takes it to the track when I take my 00 Z28 and he runs a 15.4 pretty much every run. Sorry to say this is just one of the few cases when the Honda beats the Camaro.
