TPI Camaro vs. L98 Corvette vs. 4.6L Mustang...all modded (who'd win??)

Well, going to Maple Grove this spring, and me and some buddies have some money down on a few 1/4 mile races. I was wondering who'd win, and what order.

What I got:

-1990 Corvette L98
-350 bored .040 over (stock CR)
-6-speed
-4.11 gears (I know, but they're fun on the street)
-aluminim 113 D-port heads
-1.6 full roller rockers (with LT4 valvesprings)
-Hooker long tube headers
-No precats
-Flowmaster 40 series mufflers
-siamesed/lightly ported stock base
-K&N filter
-AFPR
-Custom tune by PCMforless.com

What they have:

1.)
-1990 Camaro 350 TPI
-5 speed
-Roller rockers (1.5)
-True dual exhaust (H-pipe)
-Edelbrock manifold and runners

2.)
-2001 Mustang GT
-5 speed
-high flow fuel pump and 42# injectors (for a future supercharger)
-PI intake
-3.73 gears
-Roush side exhaust
-Headers (unsure as to brand)
-K&N intake
-50hp nitrous shot (Sneeky Pete system: I've seen it, I don't know if he'll use it since it's only good for a run or two)

So, dead stop, to a 1/4 mile, who'd win? I'm hoping, and betting, it's me. All of us are using street tires, and shift and reaction times are nearly equal.

my old 89' Vette went 13.16 at 104.79mph... but your car has headers, gears, rockers, and a 6speed over what i had. if you can drive, your car should be an easy mid 12 sec Vette. if i were you tho, id get some sorta drag radial cause with the TPIs torque + 4.11 gears your gonna be fighting for traction off the line

Good move on siamesing the intake, you've got this covered by a long shot. The only thing that could be limiting you is that genero tune, hopefully they got it close. As for 4.11's being to much; they are until you throw a siamesed base into the mix to even things up a bit. Oh btw you never mentioned who has what for tires? You should definetly look into some ET Streets or straight up slicks.

I'm running Goodyear street tires...forget the exact model. They're about the same....all Z rated.

The tune isn't really generic...they tuned it after I sent in my data sheeet of the table values from my laptop program.

Sounds like you got it in the bag, but everyone is right, get some stickies or Drag Radials.

that mustang might be close if he upped his nitrous shot.

Pill it to kill it.

I would go with the vette but the mustang would not be to far behind with a 50 shot. My brother is running 13.5 with his 90 L98, 700r4, vette with similar mods. The vette could run low 13s and the camaro would run high 13s.The mustang and camaro are probalby a decent match before the spray.4.11's are nothing in a 6 speed!!! Runs like 3.23's in a 700r4. Very common mod for t-56.

better watch the stang though. I've got a 2006 Mustang GT and while my 89 Camaro TPI 350 jumps it off the line, up top it catches me..

Headers, gears, filter and a catback on a newer car is a higher 13s car. The injectors are hurting it a TON. Instead of getting a nice solid injector pulse, those injectors are flowing so little of their potential they are actually merely spitting fuel into the chamber. Trust me, 24s are too big on a stock motor, these injectors are running at such a low duty cycle hes probably losing anything the other mods helped with.

Ad a 50 shot to that, mid 13s at best!

Let a bunch of air out of the rears, max out the fronts.

90/10 front shocks help...

You.

Then the Mustang (if he can drive and get a good launch), otherwise it should be pretty close b/n the stang and the camaro.

I think you should have the win. By the way in response to zz4monte about the 4.11's being a common T-56 mod, isn't his the ZF 6 speed? I'm not sure but I think it is, and it probobly dosen't make much difference.

It probalby is a ZF but either way 4.11s just don't effect your cruise speed with a 6 speed like they do to a 700r4.

Yes, the ZF-6 is a 6-speed. I cruise 85 at around 1900RPMS

Looks like I will be buying new tires for the 'vette, since it needs fronts, i'll go all the way around. Goodyear F1 GS-D3's

those are soom pretty expensive tires you're going with, I personally would go with some NT-555's (street tires not drag radials) to save soem money, they are equal in performance and usually about $30 per tire cheaper (assuming you still have the 16" rims) you could go with the nt-555r DR's for the rear but you'd probably get about 10k miles out of them with normal driving and the ocassional agressive driving

Well, our garage gets discounts...since we are a dealer for Goodyear. The GS-D3's would only be about 60 dollars more (total for all 4) than the Nitto's, and thats not factoring in shipping costs.
