It's a guy running around here in Ontario California talking trash how he's killing 3rd and 4th gens f-bodies on the street. His car suppose to stock. I'd told him I would race him anytime to prove in that his car is not all that. We're going to line it up in a couple of days. Do ya'll think I have a chance of beating him? Check sig below!

If he is stock, yea. If I recall correctly, they run high 12's stock. But like they say, anything can happen on the street.

Looking at your numbers, then looking at the numbers of an SVT cobra, I'd say its more of a driver's race then anything else. Cobra SVTs are not slow by any means, they are underrated from the factory, and a well tuned one will put down around 380rwhp...in essence...they are quick cars, and they are capable of running mid to high 12s.
If I was to guess, if he knows how to drive the manual...then he might get you.
Your car won't go down without a fight though, I can see that clearly in your sig.

If hes a bad driver and stock you should take him. If hes a good driver and stock it will be a race. If its not stock he should take you...
Remember 450 rwhp is 3 bolt ons away with those cars. They need a driver mod to run hard, but you never know what will happen. prepare for the worst hope for the best...
I will say this, at the last car show there was a KB 03 that left. Car was making 650 rwhp on a conservative tune, and absolutely destroyed a set of 315 DRs. Had to be 200+ feet of pitch black chunks of rubber, in 2nd gear. I am never impressed with burnouts or spinning tires, but this one time it was something to see. Especially standing 5 feet from the car as it went by hitting us with peices of rubber.

You will beat him if you duplicate your 12.4. I recently purchased an '03 Cobra and although fast it is hard to launch and powershift. Without an aftermarket shifter that car is hard to race anyone through multiple gears. They are also prone to heat soak and on a 90° night with poor track prep, crappy shifter, and wheel hop I could only muster high 13's with a 2.1 60'. With two rev limiter hits and a missshift I still trapped over 105. (Slow track and LS1 and LS2 cars were trapping 102/103 all night).

A perfect example of "it's not how much you make, but rather how you put it down".

I'm going to break him off something proper when I see him again.
I would love to race ThirdgenLS1 car just to see how long I could hang with him.

One day soon! I will be at California Speedway at the new dragstrip on the 22 of July for the Summit Series. Come on through and meet some more Thirdgenners.
P.S. Give me a halla when you're ready to run.

03 cobras are no joke. a Good driver, pulleys, and tune and 450 RWHP isnt a problem.
the key is learning how to utilize that IRS. My buddy had it down pretty good within 10-15 track passes...mind you he'd NEVER been to track before and his best was an 8.14 in the 1/8th in an 03 Cobra 'vert bone stock on worn 17in BFG's.
Seriously, if he has a good shifter and can drive, he'll eventually pull on you.

Well said. Most terminator cars will make 420rwhp with a cat-back and CAI. An x/h pipe, smaller pulley, and a tune and they are near the 500 rwhp mark. From a dig they are no faster than any other 13 second car but from 3rd gear on they will pull on about any stock car that you can find on the street (excluding exotics, and newer ZO6 cars).

He might pull one of those ITS STOCK!!!!!!!!! Just a simple pulley swap makes about 55hp on those cars. Ive seen them run 12.7 with drag radials.

Agreed, a buddy of mine just bought an 03 with a ported blower and a smaller pulley and it was pullin 520 rwhp!!!!! 03-04 Cobras are ridiculous... I do think you should put up a good fight, though I would seriously doubt that Cobras stock... Best of luck to ya

....I don't think I have ever seen a stock Terminator car.
You have now! Other than a cat-back and CAI, that is. This is how I bought it. I mean, why bother spending $$$ on her when all my $$$ goes into my twin-turbo 305..... or the fact that I'm looking at the new GT500 in about one year's time....

Yea I figure I could win because I beat 2005 Rousch S/C at the track by 3 cars. I think he couldn't drive. I want to get to the dyno before I race him to get a little more out of it.
Looking at the graph below, I need to straighten out the A/F ratio and find more consistent hp after 5200rpm. Notice the torque, it holds over 400tq from 3800-4800rpms.

I'd say not California Smog Legal unless you have been to the Referee and he has put a BAR Label on the door jam saying the 355 is legal. Not available for that year model. I don't believe the cam is legal unless you have the C.A.R.B. label for it, which I doubt you do. And C.A.R.B. labels for all the other goodies. I'd say you are "Getting By" the Smog program, not being "Legal".

What I was trying to say is that if I would have bought mine without the Borla cat-back and CAI, I would not have spent $700+ for the catback nor the $250 for the CAI. The original owner purchased these when the car was new. I bought it with 9,500 miles on the ticker.
.... is there any way to tell apart a s/c cobra from an n/a cobra just by pulling up next to one at a light...taillights maybe? anything like that?
Yes. Only the 2003-04 Cobras are supercharged. You cannot hear the blower whine until..... it's too late. Visually, look for the unique front end without a grill, unique raised hood and/or unique rear spoiler w/LEDs.

As far as the S/C Cobra, were they all S/C'd or was that an option? I saw on the speed channel they went through 6 motors before they got the S/C right.

Not an option. The blower became standard equipment in 2003. Ford used the same Eaton unit that had proven successful since 1999 on the Lightning. It makes 8.5-psig boost (stock). 390hp / 390ft-lbs.

Any Cobras before 03-04's had no blowers, but they had aluminum blocks and were 4v's...

Willie....Nice car man. "one day" lol. I want a white coupe, or sonic blue drop top. The whine sounds like sex on wheels.
Thanks! I wanted white too (favorite color) but my silver was too good a deal to pass up. It was hard finding one, even with low mileage (much less under 10k) that hadn't been modded with pulleys, etc., and with original documentation.
when did ford put the snake in the grill?
Ford didn't. The '03-'04 came with the same front emblem as the base Mustang but almost all, it seems, have been swapped with the snake.

And on that note: yesterday I saw on the freeway a 2005/06 Shelby painted dark green w/gold stripes and had Hertz emblems and GT-H on the lower front fender. Any one have any info on this?

Looking at the graph below, I need to straighten out the A/F ratio and find more consistent hp after 5200rpm. Notice the torque, it holds over 400tq from 3800-4800rpms.

Hey Vincent, remember I took the Yellow 2003 Cobra at the track awhile back. He ran in the low 13's which was not good enough.
However two times ago I lined up against one that was obviously moded and he ran around a 12.1. Lost that one.
So it will depend on the mods he has. If stock or light on the mods you will eat his lunch. By the way Vincent is a friend of mine and a very good driver.
