Sunbird GT vs. 86'Trans Am

My friend has a bone stock 1992 Sunbird GT 5 speed, I have a stock 1986 Trans Am automatic with a 305. He keeps talking smack about my car and I just would like to know how badly I could smoke him before it transpires in real life.

Do you have the TPI version (LB9) or the carb'd version (LG4) of the 305?

I'd say you have this one.

Yes, please. Let's all just have more threads about actual races with vids and whatnot, and less speculation. Almost nobody posts the results of their races. It gets old. Just have some ***** and put it up.

Theoretical and Street Racing
For this board to have less speculation I think the name would have to be changed. Until then This is perfectly acceptable.

This much was acknowledged. My point was that there is about 3% street racing in here, and 97% Theoretical.

Why don't you start a new thread and tell us about your race with a little more detail instead of interrupting another?

I don't think you have a 5 speed auto, lol. Otherwise, nice kill.

I'm pretty sure a '91 GT came with a 3.1 V6. When paired with a 5-speed, it can be pretty quick for a Cavalier/Sunbird. I'm thinking it will be a very close race. If your friend is a good driver, then I am giving him the edge in this one. Hopefully you will prove me wrong but there's ony one way to find out, so get out there and race him!

Well he isn't a good driver, he stalled three times within 15 minutes when I was driving around with him. Thats the good thing about automatics, they are idiot proof. His car is now in the shop so we will race in 2 weeks at the earliest, stay tuned.
