2001 VR6 vs. me
who would win?
1991 Z28 with 80k miles (see mods in sig) im about to put on 255/50/16 Falken Ziex tires. VS. a 2001 Volkswagen jetta VR6 5 speed with ram air intake, carbon fiber hood , catback, and maybe a chip (but i think he is bs-ing about that) with 64k miles. i went for a ride in it, he cant launch the damn thing, mainly because its FWD and the tires just spin for a good 1-2 seconds then it takes off. it feels faster than my car when he gets to the top end.
im thinkin i would totally own him off the line seeing as i have 3.73's...but i think he will fly past me once i hit my 5500 redline lol
what do you guys think? will i embarrass myself racing him? i work with him so i will never hear the end of it lol

i think you can take him, i think the VR6 has 170whp, and with your gearing if you take him from the dig you might be able to hold it off, i think you should be safe even though he has the weight advantage.

yeah i looked it up, it has 174hp and 181 torque. i bet his mods added 15hp max. but man FWD sucks! its so funny to hear the wheels just spinning and seeing him wobbling the steering wheel left and right because of the torque steer....ive always hated FWD

If I'm not mistaken they run mid 15's stock. Your car seems to be up there if not faster. Either way, you're probably right about taking him off the line with those gears.
G'luck!
