'91 Lb9 T/A vs. 1st gen Intrepid 95mph+ race
Idiot was weaving in and out of traffic in his (whatever the top of the line Intrepid is called) and cut me off. I let traffic space out then I punched it and caught back up to him. He wouldn't have it that my car is faster than his so he kept the gas pegged. I am reeling him in and pass him at over 100mph. He wouldn't even look over as I pass him and have my cutout roaring at him at 105mph. Then all of a sudden the car cutouts like it hit a rev limiter. WTF!!??! Is that what going into 4th is like, hitting a rev limiter? So would I have had to ease into 4th? How can I fix this?
Anyway, I'm happy with how my car acted at such high speeds. I hate 2.73's they suck.

Your car won't shift into OD during WOT. Some TPI cars may also have a limiter.
You chased him down and passed him over 100mph. Who was the idiot again?

Killed others? There was no traffic. And besides, 105mph isn't much faster than everyone else's 85-90mph....if they were even close by. But whatever. I'm sure you guys never gone that fast before anyway by the way you're talking or streetraced for that matter.
Anyways, back to my question. Was that the 3rd to 4th WOT shutdown everyone talks about, or was that a speed limiter?

your car most likely has a limiter. I think it's 110.
some people here get asschapped at certain things. if there was no traffic then whatever.
If there was no traffic why did he pass you and cut you off? and in your story it says 'he was weaving in and out of traffic.'
if there was other people around, then you're a dumbass. if there wasnt, then explain your story better and people wont get butt hurt.

Is the limiter in place because of the crappy stock 215/60r16 tires it used to have?
But then what happens when going into 4th at WOT?

yes, and every thime I read it I see the same thing. you were chasing an idiot who cut you off.
I don't car if the traffic spaced out or not. clearly there were other cars on the road near you. well since he was cutting you off what do you think would happen if he cut you off at 100 mph again? do you think the cars behind you would crash into you and him after your cars are all over the road? or if you loose control avoding contact and hit cars in another direction? that's what I want.... two idiots chasing eachother just to come across the road and hit me head on
but, hey 65 100 whats the differance right?

I am not responisble if you go chasing down crappy family cars at 100+ mph and kill yourself or anyone else just out for a sunday drive.

Moderators, please lock this thread and all posts regarding a race on anything but a professional race track with only almighty 3rd gen Fbodies.
Half of the posts in this section are of illegal street racing. Did I ever say I was going to kill him or cut him off? NO!!! Maybe by passing him was my way of getting back at him, juvenile yes. Was there traffic around at that point? No. Hence why I wrote 'once traffic spaced out' <by traffic spaced out I mean no one for almost a 1/4 mile> Is that better? So remove the panty wads from your asses and relax. You're acting like you never street raced before.
And like not any of you *******s ever would do, or did the same thing before. Give me a break.
Fine, I'll just admit it. I tried to kill him and everyone else on the road. I was doing 175mph.

Beacause its the guys that "Street Race" on crowded roads that give all of the peformance cars a bad name in the insurance companys when something goes wrong and they end up killing themselves or like it is most of the time they end up killing someone else...
If some guy comes up revving at me downtown i tell him to meet me at the sandpits, which is a nice straight couple miles and very rarely a car on it.
But if you want to race someone on a busy street thats your choice, Have fun buckle up and hope to hell nothing goes wrong.

This thread isn't going anywhere good. Ask your question here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/for...?s=&forumid=19 Don't mention your race.
