Jetta GL
So here I was, casually driving home from a hard day of doing more or less nothing, being calmly followed by my friend in a later model Jetta GL (2.0L), all stock except maybe the sweet black winter rims. All of a sudden, he rolls up beside me. He wants to race. So, we're out on a nice back road, fairly well paved, long and straight. We both come to a stop and line up nice and close, and then the count begins. 3, 2, 1 and we're off with engines roaring. For the briefest second, we're neck and neck and then BAM, in to second gear I go and I'm gone. In three or four seconds, I'm a car length past and gaining, and I haven't even hit 80kph yet. We both slow down, we know it's done.
Chalk up one not so stunning victory for the Firebird!
Oh, for the record I was driving a 1988, 2.8 Bird.

Yeah my 2.8 birs is nice and light. But I find with the rear gears, in first I run out of gear too fast.
