Need some predictions?

OK, Heres my car first off:

1982 Camaro Berlinetta LG4 T-tops:

- Removed AC/Smog/Heater
- Performer intake with a 625 cfm Performer Carb
- .442/.465 Lift Summit Racing Cam
- Heddman Long tube 1 5/8 headers dumping into 2 1/4 in dual exhaust into FlowTech Purple Hornies.
- TH350 with a B&M TorkMaster 2400 Stall Convertor
- ASCD IROC Daytona 3 inch Fiberglass Cowl Hood
- Tires: Front 225/35/R14 Daytona H/R Radials
Rear 255/55/R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's
- HEI w/Vacuum Advance Dist from 79 Z28
- ACCEL SuperStock 8mm Plug wires, Header Plugs, SuperThunder Coil Pack and Dist Cap/Rotor button
- Stock 3.08 Peg Leg rear

I know the rear is killing me but whats the predictions? Im running 1/8th mile here. Im thinking 9.3's-9.2's or so. Heres my deal. I was going to build me a 350 for this car but last summer, some guys at work spouted their infinate car knowledge and said a 305 cant be built to run ****. Well, I told them to put their money where their mouth is and Ill prove it. They said if I could bust into the 13's, they'd both give me a $100 a piece and shut their mouths when it came to performance. I of course took the challenge. Now, I know I wont bust into the 13's but with some gears Im hoping so.

Anyways, Here's my races lined up:

- 1989 Lincoln Mark VII... Stock minus AC and SMog delete. Has run consistent 9.6's and hasnt been modded since last season. Guy plans on putting some 4.10 gears in and converting to MAF even later on.
- 1989 Mustang LX 5.0/5 Speed...My car, I dont even know what it runs yet, but mods are in sig for it.
- 1976 Nova...350 4 bolt main with 882 heads, stock cam with a TH350, stock convertor, no gears. This one is one Ive got to smoke bad, cause my cousin keeps believing that the 882 heads are the best heads ever and when I told him to snag a set of Vortecs he said the 882's outflowed the VorTecs and I told him he needed to stop smoking crack. He has bet me that his Nova will decimate my 305, just because it is a 350 and mainly because it has 882 heads
- 1993 Camaro Z28...6 speed, loud *** exhaust, real nice car but he is one of the guys talking smack about my 305....I assume he'll smoke me but he's got to get the car back from the ex first
- 1996 Honda Accord LX...his races against my old 92 RS are enough to laugh about but he says with his new "homemade Supercharger" he'll blow past me like nothing.....BTW, the brand of the "supercharger" is Toro...I doubt Ill have any problem beating him...considering he couldnt even pull a car on my old 2M4 auto Fiero

thanks again and any predictions are ***. These should happen at the track but I assume a couple will occur on the street because 1 or 2 of these guys are too good or too busy macking the ladies to go to the 1/8th mile track.

the technical definition for "decimate" is to kill or reduce by ten percent.

I predict you'll be spending more than a couple hundred to get into the 13's, so I sure hope you have more than 2 people willing to pay up the $100.

No offense or anything, but i don't see that combo going any faster than low 15's, if that. You have have a 3.08 1 wheel wonder paired to a turbo350. You'll just barely make it out of 1st before the 1/8th is up. The cam is not that big, and you didn't say what heads you have, so i'm assuming stock LG4. 15's in the 1/4 is about a 10 in the 1/8. Just my educated opinion....

Back when it was bone stock it was running 10.2's and it had a slipping tranny then. The cam is the highest lift I could get on my stock heads. But hey, thanks for the opinions and Ill post results.

the majority of the stuff he will be spending his money on to get into the 13's will EASILY tranfer to a larger motor. converter and gears are where it's at. he needs some better gears no doubt, and traction. but when those are done, he won't have to worry abou them for the larger motor. the amount of money spent on NON-transferable parts *should* be made up with the $200 won from the idiots not knowing that a 305 can be made fast. the only thing i am concerned about is the low 8.5:1 c/r of the pre-85 lg4's.

my motor w/:
9.5:1 c/r
that cam
bonestock 416 heads
1800stall/ 700r4
3.73's - 275/60/15 bfgs dr's
hedman lt's-true duals w/h-pipe and chambered muffs
holley street dominator intake/600cfm vs 4150style holley
went 13.75@100.5

TBI92camaro: make sure you do some weight reduction as well. my previous bests were at 3450lbs w/ driver. now i weigh 3300lbs and have many more go-fast-goodies. just waitin' for the new m/t et street radials to show up at the door!

Well, I dont know much weight reduction really. I just put my stock seats back in, it looked really tacky without back seats, plus they only weigh like 20 pounds. I do have a fiberglass hood and of course no spare/jack Im trying to find me a stock 9 bolt or even a 10 bolt from a 3rd or even 4th gen with some stock Posi gears, because Im not wanting to get to 3.73's/4.10's because of no OverDrive and Ill be making some trips on InterStates for trips to Bowling Green, Ohio or anything for cruises or trips to the Strip with my local F body club. So, thats why Im looking for 3.42 gears.

I hope to see some low 9's right now and once I get my rear end, stickier tires and a differant intake, I hope to see some 8.9's or so.
