If you've ever seen a rear mounted turbo kit (stupid idea if you ask me) then you'd know that there is usually not room for much of a muffler, let alone an additional resonator.
As soon as the person looks under the hood, they'll see it's an LS1 and know it's fast. There is no point in using those crap rear mounted turbo kits at that point.

The rear mounting kits are crap, and they don't use a muffler anyway. I say stick with underhood kits.
And that's why you don't let them see under the hood. Besides, if it's stock it isn't all that fast.. if it's cammed/headed then it has the same potential as any other 5.7l sbc.

Yep, crap. I always laugh at the benefits they come up with too.
"It keeps the engine bay cool."
Yeah, it also cools down the exhaust gas temperatures by the time it gets all the way back to the turbo. Have fun spooling now.
They also always try to make it sound like it's a simpler kit. Yet, never once have I seen one of those sites selling the kits mention the fact that all your piping will be three times as long (lag) and you'll have to have a sump pump to run oil back to the turbo and then up to the motor again. Lame.

this car is a true sleeper
bet ya wouldnt think it has over 800 whp.
http://www.ls1speed.com/intmd8.cfm
but another good thing on a sleeper is keepin stuff looking factory.
like full aftermarket suspension setups... get them coated black to blend in with the underneath of the car. and drive it in the rain to get them dirty to look factory stock.
engine, keep it raw aluminum looking with black. aftermarket heads, get them fully ported but paint them black along with the engine block. stock exhaust to help hide that big cam and compression. LOL keepin stuff black and factory looking as cast metal helps hide aLOT of stuff. you can have a 434 small block looking like a 305/350 for the most part if you do it right.
also drive the car in the rain alot, and get that engine bay dirty/dusty. should help sell the old beat on look
dummy wire/setup air tubes/smog stuff to look like its still factory. that helps too.

The best sleeper cars are ones that were never meant to be fast (or have a fast version/history). 3rd gens don't really apply here because although there were V6, LG4, LO3 and iron duke cars there were plenty of TPI, HO cars backed with two previous generations of performance. Therefore the 3rd gen isn't a good candidate for the sleep role. Since we strayed off topic a bit and there are over 200 posts now I think we should let this one rest.

Rattling exhaust, messed up window tint, mismatched wheels...
But lets face it, most guys that are 'into car' don't really want a sleeper, they would rather have a car thats fast AND looks good.
