Gm goodwrench crate. is that the 260hp version? should run on par with L98. is it carbed or TBI or something?

if its 260hp or so, that should run mid 14's.

with higher stall converter and some suspension mods, high 13's is possible. thats about what i run, with 2.77 gears, 2800 stall and some adjustable shocks. i estimate it at 260hp-270hp

yep, should be somewhere in the 14's probly stock as is.

the heads hurt that motor and it could use a bigger cam too

the heads have a 76cc chamber i think. they probly flow pretty crappy. compression is around 8 something to 1. A good set of vette heads or vortec heads would wake that thing up! LOL even better would be trickflow/AFR/darts . it wont take much to get some good performance out of that motor.

I say 15's. That motor has junk heads, a tiny cam, and only made the advertised 260hp with headers and no accessories. However, it is a good starting point

ok i went to the track last night and needless to say i was very dissapointed
my first run i raced it in D n i ran a damn 17.06 !! WTF MAN but id have a bad reaction time n then the 2nd time i ran it in OD and ran 16.6 why am i runnin this damn slow? i thought the gm goodwrench had 260 hp n 350 tq??!! i know the heads n cams for this 350 arent the best but are they that ****ty to make them run in the 16's!!?? iam gettin high output heads for it n the car is still usin the stock manifolds n stock exhaust could that also be somthing that restricting my flow affecting my performance?? i was hoping for atleast low 15's!! plz help

.

wonna wake that motor up this is what i would do, if you wonna go fast got spend the money can't expect much from that motor

comp extreme energy xe268H cam and lifter kit
performer rpm intake edelbrock
holley 650 double pump
Headers and Y pipe and cat back or long tubes and true duals
i would get a set of dart iron egale heads 64cc 202/160
open element filter
2400 stall or something in that area converter and it will run nice

as far as i am concerned the best heads you can buy, for the money, is the vortec 906's that and the edelbrock performer intake for it, lookin 160 for the intake from jegs, anyways the vortec flow numbers are so dam close to the darts i dont think a little 260 hp engine will know the difference, you will be amazed with the heads tho, i have seen them, and felt them change my car

Your numbers sound about right. I bet you are at around 200 hp. That 260 hp was achived with no accessories and with long tube open headers. The cam is junk and so are the heads. You basically have an LG4 with 45 more cubes. However, you still have a great base for future power.
