'92 RS 305' vs. '93 stealth r/t'

i'm currently at 8000ft. elevation but that doesn't matter b/c we're both n/a. the stealth has a cold air intake and thats it. i have a K&N lid and filter and smog and a/c delete. i say that we'd both be pretty egual in the 1/4 mile since he is all top end and i am all low end. i was just wondering what you guys think and if anyone has any stock times for the stealth, i know my little 305 runs about 15.5s stock.

Have you ran it on the track before? A 15.5 is not likely for a stock LO3. most will run in the 16's. And as for the stealth, good luck because thats gonna be hard to beat.

a stealth"r/t" is the twin turbo version of the stealth, much the same as the mitsu 3000gt vr4. its all wheel drive and makes like 320hp. but they weigh about 4000lbs.they run mid 14's. hopefully thats not the car your thinking of.

a stealth r/t is the base model stealth, an r/t tt is the twin turbo awd vr-4 like car. and i've driven his car and its pretty fast but he has no off the line power, first is his worse gear while first is my best gear. i saw on some website saying that a non-turbo'd stealth will run 15.6 stock. and i'm not so sure that my car runs 16s as i've heard of many running high/mid 15s and i've even heard of one stock LO3 running a 15.2. but i can't really say much seeing as i haven't been to the track yet. while i think his car is quite fast past 60 i had a toyota camry with almost the same exact engine (3.0L dohc V6) so i know what it can do. i just was hoping someone had some actual numbers instead of most or i thinks.

You're all wrong

Stealth - Base - SOHC V6 (Weak!)
Stealth - ES - DOHC V6 (Better than the first, but still weak)
Stealth - R/T - DOHC V6 (Just like the ES)
Stealth - R/T Twin Turbo (They can get up and go)

All non-turbo stealths are weak, really.

Second, those times you are quoting are sea level right? If sea level is a 15.5 for your car, expect around 16.8's to 17.0's at 8,000 ft above sea level.

Yeah about there. I think Bandimere is 5,680 or something like that. I'll have to double check. www.bandimere.com

8000ft in massachusetts? I think you mean 800. An LO3 would never run 15.5 stock at that elevation. I don't even think there are any roads that high in the US.

The highest paved highway in the US is in Leadville, Colorado I think, I don't know exactly how high it is though. And there are for sure paved roads higher than that in the US. I think the base of Winter Park Ski resort is 10,000ft.

Great info. I always wondered what the highest road was. 8000+ is really up there.

i live in massachusetts but i am currently in laramie wyoming for school. i was just wondering if anyone had actual times at sealevel i'd be appreciative. my theory is that i could take this stealth in the 1/8 mile but he'd have me in the 1/4 by just a little. he says he can take me in either and i just was looking to prove him otherwise.

If it is the r/t model with the dohc then it has 222 hp and 217 tq. You should take him off the line considering that they are fwd. Depending if he is manual he should run mid 15s and slower if he is auto.
It should be how you described it of taking him off the line and him catching up and beating you. Although I don't think it will be too close as he has about a 50 hp advantage. Good luck either way.

50 extra HP doesn't mean very much to me if it takes him six hours to get to his peak power rance. its an auto so i think it would be a damn close race. the only way to find out would be to find a track but they're all close for the season right now....

Youd get killed...MOPAR style . But like the others said, there is no way a stock LO3 will come close to mid-15's. Mid 16's, maybe...especially with an auto and 2.73 gears.

i know my little 305 runs about 15.5s stock.
Maybe right off the showroom floor but i still doubt it. Ive been on these boards for a while and i heard people saying from experience that the best they can run is low 16's. Im one of them. No ones trying to put your car down, we just know from experience. And as for the stealth, i raced one a while back when all i had was a 3 inch full exhaust and flow muffler, and open element breather. It was a 5 speed. We raced off the line and i beat him but not by much. If its an auto ill say it will be pretty close and you'll have a good chance of comeing out on top. Good Luck.
