Tahoe LT......?

i would have never given these things a look sideways had i not rode with my friend this morning (who happens to be the best female driver i know)

all i know, is it's a stock 92 Chevy Tahoe LT, but its pulls like a ****, she was able to keep up with a nice looking 4th gen Bird, i was wondering what these things came with... run times?

I am not for sure what it came with. My bro had a '91 Blazer before he got his '94. His '91 had a TBI v6, both his 94 blazer and my 94 Jimmy have vortec v6s, so I'm not all that sure. Might give ya an idea tho.

my friend has a 97 i think tahoe with vortec 5.7 liter motor. something like 4.10's or 4.56's rear end. truck moves good, but my l98 caught it doing a flyby past me, so there not that fast. good low end but nothing after 50mph

It is a 350 TBI. The low gearing and low powerband give you the impression that it is fast. Good for a truck but it is only 210hp and 300tq.

TBI was around in the trucks till 95. The vortec motors that replaced them were a nice step up.

*just thought i would point out it depended on what model chevy truck you have. voertec was first introduced in 93 . i know this b/c i have a 93 s10 blazer with the 4.3l votec/4l60e drive train. From what i have found out the 4.3 vortec motor that came with my trcuk was supposely 200 HP form the factory, witch isnt to bad.

Now in the larger chevy truck models , yes tbi was still in use till around 95 then all of the truck models when with the vortec setup.

My '01 blazer is 4.3 vortec v6 and has 200hp from the factory. It is basically the 350 block minus 2 cylinders and it hauls butt. Aside from my 3 Z28's, the best thing I ever bought was this blazer...

I might have felt fast but most likely it would be hard pressed to run 18s in the quarter. You probably ran into a 3.4L 6 banger.

Oh I hear that. Gotta love the 4.3 Vortec and the 4 wheel chirp when you go WOT at 10mph in 4WD low GM rated all the 4.3L Vortec motors in its trucks at 190hp. I'm sure that some years were better, especially the newer ones, but they say 190hp for all of them.

My dads 91 suburaban has a 350tbi its a 3/4 ton with true ram air, ignition all upgraded, tbi spacer adn a 4" lift with 4.10's and i have been in it wiht him when he has taken a few 4.6 stangs down. Teh new tahoes are alright i smoked the guy i worked with when he first bought his with a 5.3L. I have ridden in it since he got the hypertech power programmer thing done and it seems real bad now.
