Got pulled over, again...

ok guys this is a cool one here. really cool. On the way home from work today i decided to floor it at a stop light. i was going 85 when i saw a cop, stumbled for a second and slammed on the breaks. This is 45 over speed limit might you mind. well i went past a cop on atlantic blvd(local road). He was at a gas station with his radar. By the time he got onto the street i was turning into my neighborhood. i got to my house and watched the cop drive by the end of my street going very slowly watching me.

well anywho, later i decided to goto the store to buy some groceries. so i went i go get some icing(yeah to eat raw) and some bagels. Winn dixie didn't have any fresh bagels. SO i went to walmart on beach blvd. right near my neighborhood. Well i got there safe enough obeying all speed signs. I get there and they have no bagel too. So i go home thinking my luck is all used up.

In the oparking lot there was one cop watching me walk to me car, the cop is parked using up 4 parking spaces. I know hes watching me. I get out of the parling lot and i pull itno my neighborhood, another cop watching me drive by. Then about a mile into the neighborhood another cop. And right in front of an apartment complex near my house another cop pulls me over.

HE says "there was an all point bulletin for a older model silver trans am a while ago. Since we have no way to prove it was you we gottalet you go" then he says "but kid, i know it was you i patrol this area all the time and i know this is the car, so behave from now on" they let me go.

i told my gf and she says if i speed anymore its over. And i dont wanna loose her so i need some pressure. No more speeding for me d00ds. Its too dangerous. I dont need any lectures my gf already tore me up. Wait until my parents find out about that one

You got lucky, lol... VERY lucky!

...why I love my manual trans and 3.73 gears... you can wind it out in the first 3 gears and still not be over the speed limit

Driving any kind of performance car can be driving record suicide.

I got a few tickets in my T/A but I generally knew when I was speeding and when I wasn't. It had an auto and 3.73s, very loud exausts, so I could feel how fast I was going.

The biggest problem car was a 3000 GT SL, it's not a powerhouse by any means, but the car was so smooth that you could be approaching 100 and not feel like there is anything wrong with it. I got three tickets within one month.

If you youngsters need a tip to stay out of trouble, check out the car in my profile...definitly nothing to get exited about, but it gets me to and from my destinations. I've had the car for almost three years now and I have been pulled over 0 times. It is a light blue four door with stock 13" rims....so even if the cop sees you going 10 mph over or whatever...chances are he won't bother you.

My next vehicle is going to be a 4WD truck and maybee another thirdgen someday. I definitly long for something with torque! If you have a problem with speeding, I highly recomend a more 'innocent' looking car for daily driving and keep your performance car for the track or a sunday driver.

As always, just be aware of what you're doing and what the consequences are.

You are lucky, and it sounds like you have a clue...

IE the best way to NOT get tickets is to not speed that much over the posted limit. I'd also be cool for the next couple of weeks 'cause they'll be looking for any excuse to pull you over now. At least until some other young driver with a heavy right foot pisses them off.

Around here cops generally will let you go up to 10 MPH over, unless you're in a school/kid zone after school lets out or when kids are being dropped off.

Use your head, and keep your license...

Racing is for the track anyway.

You dont have to have a low-key car to not get pulled over, you just have to drive low-key, 83 z28, 90 z-24, 84 orange rx7, 87 z28 black with daytona hood, Ive had these cars, none are low key and Ive never been pulled over in 8 years of driving
Actually I have been pulled over but it was after transferring plates from one car to the other, stupid DMV.

They really had you in their crosshairs legally if they can identify YOU and THE CAR. Especially if your car is loud, some old grump in the neighborhood might have complained.

They just wanted you to mellow out, and are probably aware what it would do to your finances if they nailed you. Some cops will actually cut you a break. But only once. You are lucky.

Find somewhere secluded to haul ***, or go to the track. They delivered the message in force. It appears that you got it loud and clear.

TRy not to do that stuff in heavily populated areas, man. When I was younger it didnt matter where the hell I was, if I wanted to hit it, I did. I had a couple of suspensions, and ended up paying 285 dollars a month for liabilty insurance on a car older than me. It sucked. But as you get older, you learn to drive a little more cautiously. Probably what did it for me was the birth of a child. That will slow you down. I find myself yelling at people as they drive fast by my house now. Damn, Im old.

Driving a sportscar of anykind is just asking for trouble. I only had my iroc 3 hrs and i got pulled over and i wasnt even speeding. He said he just wanted to see what i was upto. I couldnt believe it. Now in comparison my other car is a 97 Astro AWD. Tonight I was going 75 in a 55 on the highway. Just cruising along. A silver Durango was in the right lane going slower so I pulled over to the left lane to pass. right as I got to the rear bumper the red and blues light up. Damn unmarked car. I nailed the brakes but he had no intension of pulling me over he was just warning me. If I was in my Iroc I would have surely gotten a ticket.

he could not give you a ticket...an unmarked car cannot ticket you the car has to have the writing on the side but does not have to have the top lights but if he didnt have side writting then theres nothing he can do

is this a new york thing? Cause in illinois unmarked cars write about 90% of the tickets. That sounds kinda unlikely, cause what would be the point of the unmarker car??

It must be a NY thing, here in S.C. they use unmarked van's, SUV's and old beat-up pick-up trucks to stop people. This is state, local and county police doing it. The next thing you know they'll be driving H2 Hummers or garbage trucks.

If the officer is questioning you, and you call him a name, you can be arrested for it. I had a friend that called a cop a motherf#@$er, and he was arrested. I think it was either disorderly conduct, or obstruction of justice. I dont remember which.

True, but if you say "I think" before then you cant get in trouble, example: "I think your a piece of ****" they canot arrest you because it's your right of opinion.

I've done it beofre and haven't gotten arrested for it.

maybe this is true. It's also been said that telling a cop "f@#$ You!" is an arrest.

Want some pressure? GROW UP. Geez. Speeding is a choice, not something thats automatic. Lets see, keep g/f and car and money, or lose g/f and car and money...... hmmmm... seems like a freakin' easy decision for me.

This is just getting rediculous. SHHHEEEEESH. Your first car needed to be a Pinto. Then you'd have some respect for what you have now.

0 - 85 in "a few seconds, d00d." Your 0 - 60 times must be amazing!

It doesn't take too long to get to 85 in my L03 caprice (i.e. not too long to get me in trouble), I don't see why it would in an LB9 firebird...

Nothing at all man lol. I love 305s as well (im a chevy lover) But its funny when you hear someone say that they can do 2-3 seconds from 0-85. Even New Ferraris cant do that.

last i checked this wasnt a court room and you dont have to word yourself exactly as you ment, when he says a few seconds, you can pretty much understand what he means. unless you wanna be a ***** about just to start ****.

I'm tired of all the 305 hate in the chevy community, yes it's unfortunate that all f-bodies weren't equipped with 500hp 454's out of the factory... But that's no reason to put down people who have weaker engines (as if an LB9 f-body is really all that slow...) I'm glad I have a 350, but in all honesty, it's closer to a 305 than it is to a good big block.

I'm sick of people being sick of people being sick of people.

...and I mean that in the most literal way. No joke. Someone doubting a 0-85 time is no reason to bitch. Maybe he didn't realize that sarcasm was intended. No biggie. Neither Solid Lifter, and not Nick418, said anything offensive.

relax with the PC crap.

I'm tired of all the 305 hate in the chevy community
I wouldn't know, I have a 350.
