just was at a stop light when an s2000 pulls up on the side of me looked like an 03' 04 had gauge pods but i'm not sure of what mods he had, anyways light turns green we both take off easy i cant see him looking out the pass side, all the sudden i hear him gun it, i slam the gas (i'm still in 1st) all the way to 2nd and he pulled his rear bumper to my front end and we stayed that way till i hit 4th and we let off due to traffic, he gave me a thumbs up and so did i cause he was cool, but what does that say about my car? he was alone, i had my girlfriend, i hear they have 240hp, my mods are in my sig

8,200 rpm redline

well i guess its the weight that had him hanging with you hard to believe a 2.2 is sticking with a engine twice plus some the size
and especially with your mods
at least u stayed ahead lol

a 305 HO 5speed... nice car!! ever run it at the track?
S2000s are usually good for low 14s. if you hadnt launched soft to wait to see if he was going to go you would have had him

PhAnToMs,
He didn't stay ahead. The S2000 had his rear bumper to his front.
I've driven my friends 04 S2000. At low rpm they have nothing. As previously mentioned, it's only when the revs are up that they perform. If this was from a dead stop, it would have been a different situation altogether.
Sounds like a good race anyway.

I raced a S2000 once. It wasn't pretty. Nothing about this car was stock. CF Hood, Decklid. Some freaking badass dual exhaust. I know he had at least 1 turbo. I was driving down the street with a friend and he seen me coming. He turned around and we stopped at a red light. I gave him a little rev to let him know I wanted a peice of him.
At the time, I was thinking, oh its just an S2000, not all that fast. Boy was I wrong!! He was practically bouncing off of the revlimiter when the light turned green and we floored it. He had absolutuly no wheel spin and took off like i was standing still. He easilly got 3 or 4 lengths on me in the first couple hundred feet. It wasn't a race, it was a slaughter!
That car was easilly a mid 12 second car.

How does this import garbage work? This kid in my school had an eagle talon. He had an upgraded turbo charger, bigger intercooler tubing and a full 3'' exhaust. He claims it had 350 horsepower. I personally laughed at him but other people said it was true. Don't imports gain horsepower much slower than we do? How do all of these people get their talons and supras and stuff to push out over 500 horsepower without nitrous?

We rely on torque, they rely on forced induction. Of course, much like nitrous, some of these guys turn up the boost for a night of cruising, but would never run the same amount everyday.
I still give them props for making them fast, regardless of how they do it.

Funny, Just last saturday an S2000 started to mess with me, when we were able to line up at a light, I got him off the line and kept him behind me all the way, though he was on my bumper, but he couldnt pass me. and all I have is an 86 LG4 ? He had something in that car, maybe it was just bigger exhaust .... I dunno
