Dammit I've been driving since 1998 with no tickets as of yet

I mean my average driving speed is around 80 on the highways. I know it dose not sound that high there, but with 55 mph speed limits here its pretty high.

but I'm good with cops, I've found that they can tell when your lying. I mean be brutally honest, they will at least know your telling the truth, and with me, they hsve always let me go.
I have been pulled over 6 times, and gotten away with every one.

Of course I cannot drive right now, but that is another story

How do you get out of a ticket going 25 over by being honest?

I know what he means . . . I was doing 120 in a 45 racing a mustang in my best friends 2000 Camaro SS. I got nailed and I just told him the truth and he let me go with a verbal warning. And to this day I will not street race or speed because after knowing that I could have gotten wreckless and drag racing and having my liscense revoked and my friends car taken away, it was a real eye opener.

WTF... That really pisses me off, I was going barely over 85mph in my Nova, and a Trooper had to do over 100mph to catch me, so the Trooper says I was doing over 100mph too. I get arrested for reckless driving, my car gets impounded, and I had to be "detained" for 12 hours. THEN faught it and lost.

Honesty is a small part of not getting a ticket. The major part is the cop. Sometimes his mood will take you down.

Damn...I want to know the trick also. I've gotten one ticket for going 50 in a 25 and I was honest 100%. The cops here are **** as hell though. If you fart in the wrong direction you got a ticket.

here they are

1 for driving on a closed road
4 1-10 over speeding tickets, no points lost for these
1 street racing ticket
1 ticket for running a yellow light on ice
1 for not coming to a complete stop on a red light before turning right

My most BS ticket I've had to date was back in high school in my 91 RS. I crossed the double white line with my rear tire while exiting the freeway

When I had my 67 Mustang, all the local cops knew me by first name

I've gotten reckless driving (103 in a 35), exhibitionism of speed (burning out in front of a cop while I was drunk lol), and 5 speeding tickets all before the age of 20. They were never hard on me though, nothing impounded and nothing revoked. I think its because all the cops graduated from the same high school as me (bwahahah!!). Now I'm 23 and I haven't gotten a ticket in 3 years. My newest technique to get out of tickets is to flash my DOD badge. I think they assume I'm speeding to base to do something important because they usually let me go no questions asked.

I think it depends on the cop mostly, regardless of what you say (unless your a ***** to them). I've been pulled over about 14 times and got seven tickets. Some of the tickets were for 5 over the speed limit, and some of the ones I got out of would have been for a lot more than that.

I honestly do not know how a cop decides whether to give you a ticket or not. and the cops won't tell you either.

in FL you go to jail if you're doing more than 30 over.
whats DOD?

ive been driving for 6 months, pulled over 3 times, for a total of 4 tickets.

1. doing 73 in a 55 zone(10 seconds earlier and i woulda gone to jail)
2. failure to dim high beams
3. running a red light
4. dont remember exactly why (jager does that to ya)but at least i didnt get a DUI

here's 4 for each ticket:

i drive like a grandma now... especially in my camaro.

I just posted here too, i got nailed for speeding twice this month. 58 on a 35, and 83 on 65, but the second cop was ok he just marked me 75 or 65, to avoid 3 pts, so i get only 1. Either way i havent got to court yet on either of these tickets. But in all honesty what do i have to fight with? I mean i was speeding, i dont see how i can get away with the penalty at court.

Sucks i was doing so good before Feb with 0 pullovers, bummer.

Mine have been BS too...well except for one, when I actually was speeding. Was in a hurry to get to the bank before leaving for vacation in 1 hour, so I was flying home, luckily I had slowed waayyyy down by the time he clocked me.

Another one was for outdated tags. I took my car up the road to make sure she was running right (which it still wasnt), ran it out of gas about 300 yards from my house, and I live on a back road, I mean way out in BFE, and I run home to get some gas, get back and sheriff is sitting there with his lights on like he's got a big bust. Go to talk to him about it, and he points out my tags are outdated, hell I DIDNT EVEN KNOW CAUSE IT HAD SAT ALL WINTER, didnt even cross my mind. Explained everything to him, but he had already made up his mind to be captain d*ck. Note: this was the same guy that had caught, by some freak accident I might add, me and my cousin riding his quad and my dirtbike on school property about 5 years earlier. So once he knew it was me, he REALLY was set against me. Ok my story has gotten a little long, but it pissed me off so bad. We are from a small small town where everyone knows everyone, and like I said live in the backwoods, maybe 5 cars/hour up our road, and he had to go and do that ****, set me back I think around 100 bucks, cant remember. Just shows that when they decide to be a jerk, they will no matter what.

My other story was wrong too. Statey said he clocked my at 75 when I was taking my cousin home from church one day. I was rolling 55 down a long hill, my radar detector never went off, and I saw him when I peaked the hill anyways, and noted my speed and watched it the whole way. Saw him turn around after he passed me, so I kept going, turned off on a side road, another side road, I'm at my cousins house dropping him off and leaving when he pulls in the drive and blocks me off from leaving. I get out and ask him if theres a problem, he's pissed. I was like 'excuse me, whats your problem, i did nothing wrong'. Sets me in the back seat and writes me out a ticket, calls in tags, the whole works. Meanwhile I'm getting pissed off cause i see he's writing a ticket no mater what, so I start getting a little mouthy and tell him to show me the radar with my speed clocked. He casually picks it up, nothing on it, he's like 'oh, must not have registered' or some nonesense, he was mumbling so i coudlnt really tell what he said, I said 'bull****, thats becasue you didnt clock me. you heard a loud exhaust and flashy car, and you thought youd make a bust on some kid to get your quota in'. After those words he threatens to take me to jail, I then I got real pissed. Told him this was BS, whatever, took my ticket and left. I was so pissed, i thought i was gonna look his home address up and go kill him or something, thats just wrong, poor college kid as it is, and i have to pull another 100 some dollars outta my *** so he can hit his quota.

After my last two experiences, well mainly the last one, I'll tell you what, i have no respect for cops, unless im treated with respect from them. I dont care who the hell they are, wearing a badge dont mean anything. And trust me, I tried talking nice and telling the truth, I dont try to lie.

Arrrgh, sorry for the rant, had to get that out.

I really wanted to but.....
1) I didnt have the time because I worked full time at the time
2) I didnt have another 50 bucks for court costs
3) I doubt it I would have won. It was my word against his, and I've heard that you dont really have a chance against them. If it was a sheriff, I may have had a chance. That was from a cop my dad knew and talked to about it.

So if I woulda fought it, I would have had to pay the 100 bucks plus court costs, plus whatever money I didnt make from not working that day. Justice system is pretty just huh? It's not even worth your time to defend yourself.

So no, I just sucked it up and paid it.

So far i have been really lucky and only gotten pulled over once for not comming to a complete stop at a stop sign. No ticket there though. My usual speed on the freeway is about 90-100 MPH with countless times to 120MPH. I have done 105 in a 35 zone racing and usually do about 10 over no matter what. Lots of time i thought i was gonna get cough but never did. Hopefully my luck will continue. lol

BTW-CrazyHawaiian, what is a DOD badge??

Not having respect for any cop will increase your chances of getting a ticket. All and all it's a bad idea.

Just think, the cop has this guy who is getting pissed at him, does that mean the cop should be nice to him and not give him a ticket?

The one ticket ive gotten wasn't really B.S., but I really shouldn't have gotten it. I had a cop behind me, the speed limit was 55 (I was doing 60) I came around a turn and a 30MPH sign poped out of nowhere, I started slowing down, but as soon as I passed the sign the lights went on and he gave me a 52 in a 30. This horribly placed sign that drops the speed limit 25mph is also convinently located infront of the police station (I wonder why). Most cops I think would give you a few seconts to see if you slowed down, then let it go.
$250 or so is the usual cost of a fine around here (Nassau). I cannot wait to see what I get to pay for my ticket that I got upstate. Everyone upstate thinks people from Long Island are rich, so I wouldn't be suprised if they decided to give me a $400 ticket.

well guys i just got a ticket today about 4 hours ago actually and im severly pissed about it. I've had other speeding tickets but those i was speeding but tonight i wasnt! My speedometer cable broke saturday morning on my way to work, no big deal, i was off today, and was on my way to buy my speedometer cable and calipers. well supposedly i was doing 51 in a 35 through an s curve following a taurus.... but guess who got pulled over? me because im a teen and i drive a camaro.. he wouldnt show me the radar gun, so im thinking its bogus. i was a 1200 rpms in 4th gear in my automatic with a 2.73 rearend gear which comes out to be 41 mph not 51 i glanced at my rpms when i seen him and i didnt slow down. well i tell him im on my way to get the cable which i was, but he still gives me a ticket. and it physics from what i understoof radar would be inaccurate in any curve. you guys think if i take my receipt that i bought the cable and a receipt saying that a shop fixed my cable, that it would help my chances?

Most cops I think would give you a few seconts to see if you slowed down, then let it go.
$250 or so is the usual cost of a fine around here (Nassau). I cannot wait to see what I get to pay for my ticket that I got upstate. Everyone upstate thinks people from Long Island are rich, so I wouldn't be suprised if they decided to give me a $400 ticket.
Just got the supporting deposition for it today. The officer said he used radar, and was sitting still when he clocked me which is B.S. he was behind me the whole time.
