~94-95 300ZX N/A vs 305 tpi M5?
Well, I ran across a 300ZX and he ran me, and I won. Is this normal for a stock 305 TPI M5 with 3.42's? I didn't expect the win...I am stock down to the stock exhaust. I had him by 1-2 lenghts by 85. Is this normal for a rebuilt 305? Or could this car be not as stock as I think? TIA...

well im not too familiar with 300 zx's but some of the 2nd gens you could call em I guess? like the one you raced have turbo or twin turbos or something...Im doubting the car you raced had a turbo though else youd prolly be smoked. Either way great win!

Was the 300z an automatic? Those Z32's are heavy suckers, but then again most f-bodies arent featherweights, either. N/A they had 220hp, weighing about 3400-3500lb. I'm guessing it was an automatic, and the only reason you won was because of your 5speed and 3.43's.

I am also curious...
My Girlfriend has one of these cars. It's really nice, best **** you ever drove. It's a 1990 with 83,000 miles. Non-turbo automatic trans....off the line it's really slow but it does have some get up and go.
Anyone know what these things are supposed to run in the quarter??? Her car has either an HKS or Stillen exhaust on it ( came with the car, sounds killer too) and a K&N.
I am guessing high-mid 15's.

The N/A's aren't fast at all. I took on one 3 times with my 99 S-10 with the 4.3 extended cab 5spd man. I smoked him bad. He hung for just a second on launch because I spun, but once I hooked he was finished.

Hey, this relates to a thread I started a while back. My friend has a 95 300zx thats a manual and it's not bad at all. From what I hear though the autos are a dog compared to the manuals. I can barely win against my friend's 300zx but I think I have alot of restrictions on my car that is holding it back. Either way I think the 300zx are a respectable car Turbo or N/A. Just my .02

I think the avg N/A is prolly mid to low 15's
but if I remember right with good driver they can knock on the door of the 14's if not enter the door way a little bit

i dunno, my friend has a 90's 300zx 5 speed N/A and while it has a really nice interior styling to it and amazingly bright HID's the car isn't really that fast. one time i was trying to egg him on to race me and after saying no he jumped out ahead of me and had about 6 cars on me until i started to go, needless to say i passed him like he was standing still... and afterwards he wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the night lol. it's a really nice ride though, quick yes... fast hell no, but a TT 300 is a different story
