Destroyed a 240sx S13 SR20DET swap
My friend finished the swap a couple of weeks ago and said he wanted to run against my RS. I was curious to see what his car could do so I said sure.
From a dead stop, I stalled up to 1000rpm and he was at about 2800rpm(5spd). So we take off, I spun a little and he spun alot. I proceeded to walk away...actually more like run. By the time I hit 3rd he was about 8 cars behind me. I wasn't paying attention to how fast I was going but it was probably around 85mph when I let off. No point to keep going there. Next was from a 20mph roll. I let him get the jump, he pulled a half a car before I dropped it. We stayed like that for a second or two but after that I walked away quickly. Let off around the same speed as last time with me having about 5 cars on him.
The car is actually pretty quick but he needs some practice driving. Against my Iroc it might've been a better race.

Good kill, those SR20DET swap S13's can be quick. It's the Japanese-version of the Camaro.

SR20Det
Yup, I have to admitt I like those S13's. I had a 90 before I bought my Formula. I toyed with the idea of buying a JDM, SR20DET, but I am much Happier with the Formula. And it's only a 305 TBI.

87FAKE, Cool, you get to race your own car and get beat?! Maybe that's not so cool. Anyway how do your races go down? Do you usually start pulling in 4th? I know that's when most stick ls-1's I've driven and rode in began to really pull hard, at least I think that's where they're the most wicked. I'm sure the RS takes you from a stop.
BRiroc Z, how do you like the hot cam? I remember not liking it as much as the 219, when I used to run both with 190's and a SR. It didn't have cylinder filling down low like the 219 and I could tell. Of course that means your car has alotta potential.
Later,
Joe

Most of the ones at my track run low 13's at 108-111 at my track. There is a 180Z conversion that runs 11.5's at 120+ with a SR20DET in it...thats FAST! I saw it run and was like WTF??:hail:

Yeah me and Fake have run at the track a couple of times. I'll get him out of the hole but he'll creep up on me past the 1/8th. I was able to hold him off last time we ran.
The Hotcam is doing a pretty good job. Idle quality is alright and it makes decent torque down low, although it doesn't start to really to pull untill 3000rpm. When I have time and money I'll swap it for the 219 or a bigger single pattern cam me and Fake have talked about using. As the car sits, I think with just a good prom tuning it would probably pick up a couple of mph through the traps.

That's cool. I'd go bigger than the 219, personally. My old Iroc had that cam, 383, and pretty much the same other parts you have. The 219 didn't have enough lope for me maybe because of the extra cubes, but I like the sound of a bigger cam. Just stick with a single pattern cam with those heads, but I'm sure you already are aware of all that.

a co-owner of one of the local ****-boy garages here has a 180SX conversion with a turbocharger on it. I asked him how fast his 1/4 was, and he said, "14.2@89mph.. but it was my first time at the track with only 2 runs, and I missed 4th gear".
