My friend just got an '03 Mustang. It's got the 3.9(?)L V6. It's stock, he just picked it up Wednesday. And he wants to race me. I think I'll take him, but what do ya'll think? Mine's an LO3 with K&N and beefed up 700R4 and stock converter. His is an auto too. He can't drive very well. Should I take him?

I dont think he will need to learn how to drive the car. If it is an auto he is just gonna floor it anyway, and not have to shift. I think it should be a good race. Figure the Mustang to run a low 16 to maybe a high 15 in good conditions!

I think that thing makes about 200hp and from other post that I have read you will lose. If you have a few free mods and an open element and or exhaust you may edge him out. You will no doubht get him off the line but I think he will walk you.

My 92 is stock and Ive raced a few v6 stangs and you will win easily. I remember racing one from a 45 to 110 mph roll before and had about 2 or 3 bus lengths on him by the time I hit 110. That 190 hp is a little fishy to me.

I worked for a Ford dealership earlier this year. I forget the torque, but the V6 stang puts out 193 HP. I'm 100% sure of that. You will be more torque heavy than him, but you'll have about the same HP. I'm not sure what the V6 stang's powerband is like, but that will determine who wins, most likely.
