89 IROC vs 98 Prelude??
this kid i know has a 98 Honda Prelude, he claims to have 260 horse, im not too sure of their stats or waht mods he's made if any. He said his cars curb weight is roughly 3800. Ive got an 89 IROC with a 5.7 liter 350, flowmaster 3 inch exhaust, JET power chip, 3.73 rear and shift kit, i was wondering how we matched up. I've beaten most of the cars around me, including early 90's GT's and a 98 GT (which was stick) how does this kids car match up?

You'll take him off the line, though his upper RPM power will probably make for a good matchup

I think it's probably closer to 2800lbs.. there's no way a 4cyl fully loaded prelude can outweigh a fully loaded GTA.

how much hp do they have stock? 260 seems kind of high. you should find out his mods.
and about the weight, he may have stereo equipment and other heavy things in there weighing it down :dunno:

That prelude should weigh in around 3100 lbs and have 200 Hp stock... they had 151 Ft-lbs torque stock and ran 15.7 in the 1/4 mile if my memory serves me. I think he's using funny math to get to 260... he would almost definitely have to engine swap for that one... In short I think you'll eat that car alive.
LOL he could have seen the stats for one of those new acuras with the 260 Hp and made an *** out of U and ME

yeah im not sure about the weight, i just know he looked at my door to see what my car weighed and he commented (damn yours is only like 400 more then mine" so i did the math 4200-400= 3800 , i think the only mods he has is exhaust and maybe intake, i should kick the **** out of him, ive never ran my car at the track but im sure its under 15 second 1/4 mile, the kid i bought it from said he ran it at 13.9 as his best, he might have exaggerated a little but im sure its at least the mid 14's

Don't even worry about the Prelude..even from a roll. My friends 98 Blazer with 4 people in it stayed door to door with only a driver in a modded Prelude...lmao
