b16a Honda
Short and sweet, and I did a search. A kid that I work with has a little Honda Civic that he put a B16a motor into. I think he said that it is a second generation, whatever that means. I have rode in it, and it seems quick, but I think that I will be able to beat him whenever my bird is done. I have an 88 with a 350 going in, 3.42 in the rear, open right now, but I want to have a locker or a posi by the time I race him. Oh, and i have a 350 turbo also. It is getting ready to get a shift kit. Soooooooo...... can I beat him?

Depends on lots of factors. In my town we have this little **** racing shop that has a civic hatchback running 12's with a highly modified b16 motor...but the standard ones run more in the high 13 to low 14 range, and if you hook and have a decent 350 you should win.

Depends on the type of Honda really. I would probally guess it is your typical CRX or hatch that is packing a swap and thinks it is fast. I think with only a b16 swap, they might be in the low 15's or something. The local r^ice shop in my area has a completely stripped 94 or so hatch, is tubbed, has raceseats, has a GS-R engine swap and even on a 75 shot of ZEX it only busted 14.3's or so I think. For all the money they put in it, that is sad.

B16 swaps are not that great. My friend had a '95 Civic Hatchback and he swapped a B18c(integra type-R motor) in his, now that thing was pretty quick. Once you get into the B18, and H22 swaps you start to have a problem keeping up. Also just like Mustang GT's you can never tell what there packing because they all sound the same.
I say with a mild B16 swap you will have no problem taking him, just dont let him get a rollin start so he has the upper hand with that damn VTEC.

Well now that someone mentioned it, his car has an entire carbon fiber body kit with all lightweight racing seats - so that's probably the difference right there.
