82 corvete vs 92 firebird

how would my 92 305 TBI run against a 82 corvete with a 350 cross fire? both cars are auto. Firebird has K&N AIR FILTER and flowmaster exaust. The corvete is bone stock.

I'm pretty sure the vette's got you (even though the CFI is on the car, still better than TBI in my book ) But make sure that it's not an 1983 Corvette because if it is you will lose, only factory turbocharged Corvette ever.

Im no expert but Im pretty sure the vette wasnt around in 83. You may have been kidding I dont know.

most later model c2s are SLOW. I outran my buddies 78 350 auto with my 305 with minimal mods.

Now it isnt even a race

Sure the vette was around in '83 it's just that the vettes that were around in 1983 were 1982 and prior vettes

The early C3 are potent.

My dad has a 1969 stingray convert,
that would hand me my @ss!

Some of the early C3 had the big block
454!

However the late C3's seem to be dogs.
Just my opinion.

The Cross-fire 1982 350 had 200hp@4200rpm and 285tq@2800rpm's. Which in a Corvette will beat your 170hp and 255tq.

So looks I was right the numbers are stacked against you and your mods are not going to make up for 30 horse and 30 torque.

3342 Curb Weight on the Vette and and 3121 curb weight on your car.

Not sure what the differences are in the years here, but, I raced a stock '81 Vette with my '88 Iroc when it was runnin about 14.6. I absolutely destroyed it. But, then again 350TPI and 305TBI are no comparison when it comes to numbers. I'd say it depends on how well each of you can drive. You never know when it comes to a street race. Good luck and let us know.

an 81' Vette is completely different (in terms of the engine) than an 82. for 1981 there was only 1 engine offered: the 190hp L81. a friend of mine had one of those and went 15.1 at 90mph 100% bone stock with 79k miles on it. not to bad for what it is
