64 1/2 mustang vs me

There is a kid down the hall from me that owns a 64 1/2 mustang. It's a 302 4 speed manual. Could I take him?

I have an 88 LB9 auto in good tune. All stock right now except ported plenum, K&N, and recent tune-up (MSD 8.5 SC wires, RF AC/Delco Plugs, Conrad cap/rotor).

What do you think?

Waay too many variables on the Mustang. The motor could be a 150 hp dog or a 300 hp beast. We need some more spacifics, but I would guess you should win for now.

Considering Mustangs didn't start getting 302's until 1968, you're better off looking at it like a box of chocolates...you don't know what you're going to get.

Well i think he put the 302 in it cuz it says 289 on the front fenders. I'm not sure if there are any mods on it or not. I will have to ask him.

Are you even sure it's a 64.5? Because they didn't put the 289 in the Mustang until '65.

The 64.5 either got an I-6 or a 260ci (which later became the 289 and 302) V8.

That's what he says. I am not sure if it is or not. I don't know much about stangs so I can't tell ya what it is suppose to be.

Yea, there's just simply no telling what he's got to offer up...they made 302's for over 30 years.
