1990 thunderbird supercoupe is how fast?
Hi all, Well im buying a 1990 supercoupe.. ive always kidna liked the way the tbirds looked, and its an awsome deal.
i was wondering a 5 speed hooked to a supercharged v6 is gonna do what when laying into it??? ive heard these cars are scary fast.. i just really want it for a driver, but if its got such great potential.. why waste it ??
thanks

Not scary fast bone stock, but I know of one particular daily driven supercoupe running 11's with full leather interior, A/C, and an AOD. They respond well to mods, but be careful with your tune. Blown HG's can be a problem.

They are respectable cars. My freind who has a TGP got an article about from a magazine from 1990, called Stealing Fords Thunder. It is a comparison of the Turbo Grand Prix and the Super Coupes.
I can scan it and send it to you if you want.
I think stock the Super Coupes were supposed to run 15.8 might have been with a 5spd, but could have been an auto. They have quite a bit of potential though. I think there is one in my area that is running 13's, but he is also spraying a 75 shot I think.

my brother runs the turbo coupes, he has one in the low 14's maybe even better when he gets it running right.
the supercoupes are a tad faster than the turbo coupes stock for stock so i would say high 15's.

A stock 87-88 Turbo Coupe is a 15.9-16.2 with 5spd and the 90 SC is faster..say a 15.5-15.7 or so. Ony thing hurting them is there weight. The blown HG's are a commom Ford 3.8 prob..so be careful. The stock 5spd's also do not like a ton of abuse like powershifting.
