well i dont have too much money to put into the motor but i have enough for moderate stuff..i was thinking of just gasket matching the heads myself (im pretty crafty with a die grinder) and what have you...eventually im gonna put a 144 supercharger under the hood just for a little extra fun, nothing major. if i feel saucy, i might get those World heads in jegs for like 350ish a pop. they seem like a big improvement over stock, just not the best i can get.

I checked out the BMW website and it says the M3 engine puts out 85000 Watts which in non-****** units equals 113HP. In other words those cars suck and if my parents gave me that car I'd be like, why are you punishing me? Your good to go the way you are dude. Just make sure ya got traction!
Good luck.
Good luck.

The new M3s do have 333hp. They are very quick cars for 6s. They are almost as fast as the M5s. If you can run low 13s you should do alright. Also depends if the kid can drive or not. I am not sure if they even come in autos. I have driven three M3s and they were all sticks and QUICK. Very fun cars to drive, but I would rather throw $30k into my car.

The slightly older models with I believe 240hp were solidly in the low/mid 14s, there is no way a newer 333hp one should run that badly unless there is a monkey in the drivers seat. Low 13s seems to be the norm, right in there with LS1s like someone said above...
You are going to need a decent 350 setup to beat this guy if he has the newer 333hp model, and I don't think some stock smogger heads you've lightly cleaned up are going to cut it... If it's a 240hp model you could probably beat him with any decent 350 setup...
I'm not clear on exactly what you have already though. You sig says soon, but you say you already have the 350 and stuff? What is it that you already have?
If I were you I would try to score some used Vortec heads somewhere like ebay, a Performer RPM to fit them, and a decent cam. If you already have a bunch of crap you were planning on using I'd try to sell it and go the Vortec head route. That setup with a good exhaust should let you take this guy IMO, or at the very worst be extremely competitive with him...

yea i have that video. but also in that video at 2:26 into it they say the BMW is supercharged! dunno if he was right or not but also how do they know its a bmw M3 and not some bmw hopped up. im just sayin.

I'll second that you are toast. I work for a BMW dealership and those M3's are tough to beat, but with those cars its alot the driver too. Now does his car have a 6-speed or the new SMG paddle shifters? the SMG uses the same paddles the F1 cars do, if hes got one of these its going to take that much more to beat him. I bet you beat him off the line but after that one or two seconds hes going to destroy you. You can make your car go faster for alot cheaper though, supercharger for you about 2500, supercharger for him around 14000, good luck
also, the m3's are known as being the porsche killers, we had a guy come in and trade off a 2003 911 w/ 900 miles on it for an m3, so that tells you something

Stop light racing an good 3 series BMW (incl M3's), is easy to win, it's highway speeds that they kill, anything above 90mph and they destroy to 150mph, then the factoy speed limiter turns on.
I would say for an M3 you need a good amount of torque and topend.
So really you need to run 12s to destroy this guy, or if he can drive low 13s should work very well.

PORT DA HEADS...
i was thinking of just gasket matching the heads myself (im pretty crafty with a die grinder) and what have you...
If you are comfortable w/a die grinder you should DEFINITELY port your heads. It's very cheap for the money it costs in parts. I did this to my 305 and it REALLY woke it up. I read a car craft article one time that said you gain 10-20% HP from what you started with. I also did a 3 angle valve job for another 10HP or so....that's a solid 40HP increase for less than $200!
BTW - if you do this you may want to get some old heads from a junk yard and work on them so you can still run your car while your porting. It took me about 3 weeks to port/install and I was glad I did this
Well whatever you do kick his overpriced mommy and daddy baught import car's ***!

yea i figured that...do they make the intakes with EGR or do they have non-EGR vortec intakes? cause a plugged up hose would clash with my **** neatness complex.

The Performer RPM for Vortecs has no EGR crap. In fact the heads have no provisions for EGR so if you want it, you'll have to rig up an external setup... I don't even know if the regular Performer for Vortecs can be had with EGR provisions or not... You have to run a drop base aircleaner setup to fit under the stock hood with the RPM btw.
