A Mustang in our crew
Well a couple of my friends at school with F-bods got real sick of all the Ri*er street teams so we jokingly made up a F-body crew. In the begging we had 3 camaros and 2 firebirds but now we have some more f-bodies with 9 total cars. 4 of these cars are in the low 13s high 12s and one in the mid 11's on juice only two are 4th gens the rest are 3rd gens....but to the story a lot of the guys in the crew are giving me **** beacuase a buddy of mine has a mustang gt convertable and i told him he could cruise with us. He really wants to get into the crew but we're all f-bods. What do u guys think we should do... my main argument for this crew was to beat the **** out of the ri*er boys but now the crew has turned into a brand specific group...you think i should just let him in and leave it...change the name or just tell him he cant be apart of it....also he hasnt run his car at the track yet but his car is an 89 mustang gt converable 5speed with gt-40 heads, cam, exhaust, headers and cobra intakes. what do u think he will run??

I think you should let him in. I know that my Fbody friends accept me with no problem and the Mustang guys do the same.
As far as what he will rin, with GT-40s (iron, Ps, aluminums?) a Cobra intake, cam and exhaust, he should be in the low 13s on street tread and deep 12s withtraction. the convertable will hurt hid times, but I think he could be 12s easily with traction!

We roll with the local F-body club all the time. It's pretty cool seeing about 30 F-bods and Mustangs cruising down the street.

I know you guys are quick to say let him in but you gotta think about how the others will take it because its a M*****g, I can understand what he's saying. But, if he's cool with/likes F-Bodies, I'd probably say yes. But I'm telling you, he'd like it much better in a M*****g group instead and the F-Body guys would probably like it better to. Its always gonna be Chevrolet vs. F**d, but it's Domestic vs. Import too.

I say if your going to start your own F-body group you might want to think about that because the 89 GT is considered an F-body. If you want to have a 3rd/4th Gen group thats a different story. If you all decide to get logos and stickers for your club well then that would put him out but be that as it may I would still let him cruise with you even as a non club member if you so desired.

Ya gotta go wit' the group. Just because we're open to fords and chevys, doesn't mean everybody is. You might want to point out, though that at least it's not a dodge:nono:

Whats wrong with Dodge's? They had some awesome powered muscle cars that would stomp some of us into the ground. Now the new Dodges I would have to agree.

I say let him in. g.m. -vs- ford might be the order of the day any other time,But when it comes to imports all domestics are allies. I can remember a couple of years ago when it was my car,a 92mustang LX 5.0,a 94formula,and a 79 vette, banded together and shut down a 93 rx-7,93 civic with mods,92 eclipse, and a 89 integra. That was a fun night!

It all comes down to what the other guys say. He may not necessarily have to join the club to cruise. I personally would have no problem with letting a Mustang cruise with me. I think that in this world gone mad, we wont spank the monkey the monkey will spank us. Actually, that has nothing to do with this. Just try and talk to the other guys, if you were formed to beat r|cers, then they should have no prob with a Mustang.

They're probably just that way because the GT could hand them all their asses... BTW does he have SFC's? Those mods on a GT convertable would be a big nono without SFC's...
If it were my friends we'd make him an honorary member... but you really can't have too many honorary members... it is a special title only for a select few...
I was an honorary member of the 6 foot plus club which my friends made up in HS... they were all over 6 feet tall and I was and still am just over 5' 7"... good times... good times.

I don't see anything wrong with letting him in. A fast domestic with a cool owner is welcome in my book. A friend of mine here in town is trying to start a domestic car club because he was sick of seeing all the wannabe Vin Diesels in their import car clubs. It's mostly gonna be F bodies, 4th gen LS1s at that...but any American muscle car is welcome. It looks like I'll be the only 3rd gen.
A few years ago I used to cruise/race with my Mustang friends. Yeah I looked out of place being with them but it didn't matter because I was the fastest out of all of them.

i say let him in as long as he's a cool guy and knows what he's talking about when it coems to cars.. ive hung out with the r*cers around here i mean my best friend drive a r*ced out eclipse, but a few import guys actually know what they are talking about, there is this one guy that has this black eclipse around here and he actually has a air compressor tank that he fill with air and he has a hose running from that to his intake.. i mean come on.. but there is another eclipse that rides around here thats runnng 11's.. not bad for a 4 cylinder.

Ya we all have decals on the driver side window in the corner that says F-Body...but what i was thinking was we could give him the same decal and just find a small O and X and fit that in after the F so when you look from far it looks like hes part of the crew but then when you look close he dosent look like a retard...the kid is real smart with cars and no he doesnt have sfc yet...Im actully puttin mine on with him... the guys in the crew are kinda warming up to the deal as they figure out that his car is a good 12 second car if driven right. I have no problem with mustangs, sure we race and i get annoyed with some of them (probably because some are faster then me) but i absolutly dispise ri*ce. The way they flaunt there ****, and act like there cars are gods gift to the world....cant take that....and that is why this crew was mad...so we could be the hell out of those boys.

--1964 Ford F350, 292 V8, 4 speed Manual, 3.??
--1982 GMC S15, 350 chevy v8, 350 TH, 3.42
--1950 Chevy Truck

Granted, not all of these vehicles are or ever will be racing vehicles. Some just won't ever be THAT fast. But the point is...they are all cool veicles- in our opinions. All 7 of us. Alot of veicles for that few people, huh? Yeah, well... there is more.
I say...let him in, get an actual name and not certain style. That gets boring. It's your choice.

I'd say let him in so what it's a Ford atleast it's not a honda.......If you guys are friends I think you can see thru a brand of car........
Tell your friends it's not really a Chevy~Ford issue anymore it's domestic~import thing now!

In our MHRA (Mustang Heads up Racing Association) we allow F-bodies to run Outlaw. The thing is they even have our www.mhra.stangnet.com stickers on the camaros! There are no hard feelings and even some of the slower 13 and 12 second Fbodies want to run in our Factory class. I don't see us going that far, but you never know, a brand is just a badge when we are talking Ford and Chevy/Pontiac!

I have owned and still do own both a Ford and a GM car. I have been a Mustang owner. I am a Trans-AM owner and I am a F-150 owner. If R*cers are the reason you started this thing then your main goal should be showing up old Uncle Ben's. It is showing American Muscle. If a Mustang can do the job let him in as long as he is not an a$$hat. Your choice however but you would not regret it I am sure. If the guys cool I don't see a problem.
