351 Saleen vs. 383 Firebird

Let's say both cars are pretty much stock and both are fuel injected and both are equally geared. Now with that which one will prevail in a quarter mile? Will the 383 have more torque on average? I guess what this comes down to is which engine is dominant? Any guesses?

What is done to the 383?

With all stock 350 gear on a 383, the Mustang would win hands down, the S351 can hit mid 12s on the 18" street tires at well over 110 (maybe even closer to 120?)!

If the 383 had heads, cam and intake work, then it would be a good race, and the better suspension and traction (probably not the S351) should win.

Too many variables on the 383 cars side!

I don't think the 383 with stock 350 stuff on it is going to outrun a 495 hp anything.

This was just a theoretical thing but I was counting on the 351 NOT having a supercharger. Just motor against motor. Just a situation some coworkers and I are talking about at work.

Well since an S251 HAS a supercharger, I guess we have to include it.

My 383 has headers ,full exaust ,and some other little things ( heads, cam, injectors..etc ) . I run 14.1 on the Gtech with a rear end that is about to give and a stock chip . So take that for what its worth.

Though there is a superram base and subframe connectors sitting in my room so it should be lower soon....
