Well a kid at work comes up to me the other day and says he has someone for me to race. He said it's a 500 HP saleen mustang with NAWWS..yes he sad NOS and not N.O.S . Which coming from this kid means this guy has a stock saleen vert. How do you guys think i'll fare. I've already walked a newer saleen that he's describing on the highway but I don't know if that was because of driver error on the mustang guys part of the fact that my car is just that fast. Anywho this race will probably go down tommorow night or the next. Who do you guys think is going to win. We'll probably go from a roll and a dead stop. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put money on this race. Any helpful input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I wouldn't put money on it. But it should be a good race. If that stang does actually have 500 hp than you'd better watch out.

but if it turns out to be just a stock one it should be a good race!

not sure about the hp and torque numbers on those saleens..

It all depends.

A 281 Saleen, without the supercharger would end up with you murdering it.

An S281 with a supercharger would be a good race with you winning.

An S281 E would be a decant race with him winning!

I think you should put some money down, afterall, you will have traction and he probably wont!!!

Saleen vert equals about 230rwhp and although he said NAWS that could mean he either has the NOS fogger system or the dry kit. Either way I doubt he has 500hp unless he has a strong *** engine. Ask him if he wasn't to go from a dead stop or a roll. If he says from about 60mph+ then you might want to think about it. A nitrous car making 500hp on the spray is going to try to keep out of shooting from the hole. So just some ideas I'm trowin at ya.

Well i talked to the kid's brother from work and he told me the car is an S281. I've walked one before and I think i'll have to walk one again. He also told me the car is all stock. And i think this kid wants to put somewhere along the lines of $500 on this race. He said LS1's are garbage and because he has a supercharger he's going to win. I'm up for it..so hopefully i can get in touch with this guy tommorow and set up the race. I'll keep everyone posted. thanks for all the input.

You'll take this one!!! His car and your car are very similar as far as performance (as sad as that is for Saleen!) and he has alot more room for error with the 5-speed! Go get yourself $500!

I don't know. A Saleen is nothing to mess with if you are stock. If he can drive and he is roots then you are in for a race. If he isn't very good with the clutch and knows the car then he will lose no questions asked. I ran a guy I know's Saleen supercharged and bone stock I put down a 13.4@108mph with a 2.1 60' and that was my first run in the car and I didn't even know it. They have around 330-350rwhp, don't exactly know what. But what I don't get is I thought if the Saleen is a vert then it is N/A.

But then again, I have seen some very stock cars that supposedly have 500+rwhp.

sorry my keyboard is kind of messed up. the 't', 'n', and 's' keys dont always work. thats what happens when you drop the keyboard moving. if you'd like i can go upstairs and use a keyboard that works great. thanks for your concern though.

i was just letting you know that nobody is going to belive what times you say you've run at the track because you lie. its better to say you've 'heard' or 'read about' them running that time but if you 'ran' it then alot of ppl will just laugh. and its not just two people. i've been to the track alot in my life. i go at least once a month to drift. i wont try to brag about any times i've run because all my cars are slow (none run faster than 13's). i'm not afraid to admit it. but hey at least i dont lie right? drifting is more fun for me anyway. going straight over and over gets me bored quick. especially if my car is slow.

i say the ls1 will win.

He didn't want to believe it cause at the time him and I had alot going at eachother but I showed him that I did run it and he accepted that and now we give eachother tips on how to drive our cars.
