my Camaro kills *****... literally!

this guy at my girlfriends work just bought some riced out old 5speed Escort (early-mid 90s). its got all kinds of add ons: a Lancer front end, and BMW headlights and wheels just to name a few. performance wise its got a fart muffler, and a cold air kit. to make it look even more ***** the interior is completely gutted and it now sports a roll bar and 2 race seats. well ive challenged this guy to race my 16 sec Z28 cause he claimed the previous owner got it to do a 15.7. riiiiiggght! so the race was set up for today and i met up with him in a Wawa parking lot, and waited for a nearby light to go red so we could catch it. we decided to go until the next traffic light, which would probably be about a quarter mile. i figured i would win this race easily, mostly becaue we were running uphill, not the best place for a 4 cylinder car to run from (no torque). light turns green and BAM! i launch perfect with no wheelspin and shift the auto trans into 2nd at 4500rpms. i check my rearview at this point and see him still sitting at the light! ah man, he stalled it! so being the good guy that i am, i turn around to give him another chance. well when i got back to the intersection, he was pushing his car into a nearby parking lot! apparently he blew the trans up.. there was quite a bit of smoke pouring out from under the hood! so i went back to my girlfriends work to give the results of the race : Camaro "kills" Escort!

I also agree with Mark. I see alot of newer Mustangs around here that I would qualify as rice. All kinds of Japanese stickers, big wing, very low ground effects, etc.

Yup, it's even affecting Mustangs.....and CAMAROS! Today after washing my car I seen what I would never see, a 93-97 4th gen Camaro with those clear Euro lights and a ridiculous spoiler on the back, ah! What killed me the most though was, awhile back, when I seen a 91 or 92 silver RS with a gigantic spoiler on the back, it was like twice the size of the high-rise spoiler MEANT to go on those Camaros, it was hideous, and it scared me.

Rice is all in the personallity of hte person doing it. Rice is not putting thinks for looks only. If the owner is doing it for looks only then tahts what hes doing it for. Rice is buying parts with the EXCUSE of performance. Like buying a large tach and saying you did it cause you wanted to keep an eye on your rpm. While really you did it cause it looks nice. Its all in the personallity of hte person doing it. If you were to call rice anything that is for looks only then you would have to hate on yourselfs. putting rims 99% of the time is rice, putting a cowled hood becuase it looks nice and not really cause of performance would be considered rice. Get what I'm trying ot say?

The worse thing I've seen with racing stripes is the 80s Toyota van that some people own near me. Wonder how many of the tractors round here they've killed?
Why? Why do people use them so much? What does it mean?

At my highschool there was a brand new black Geo Metro with two big silver stripes down the middle. He had chrome hubcaps and leopard skin seat covers too! Some kids in shop class picked his car up and moved it on him! I didn't know the kid personally, but my friend did. I kept telling my friend to get him to race me, but he never would.

To add on to this...you also get the benefits of weight savings....on a ***** though...he says he puts the hood on because its lighter.....yet he puts on a heavy *** spoiler in the back.....yet its a front wheel drive car.

You are right on about half of this.....but you also gotta realize that there is rice (most of what you said applied to this)....and then theres bad (actually...from what ive seen....HORRIBLE) taste....I think people need to stop using the term rice so much...and instead use the term "my *** thats horrible taste and looks like crap" when it applies. But I guess peoples connotation of rice includes bad taste.

Hey man, my 86 5-speed did surprisingly well. Hehe. I did like a 10 second burnout just dropping the clutch once and left smoke everywhere, it was great. Of course it was a rebuilt/salvaged car so who knows what in there was different from stock, but it always surprised my friends. Not fast by any means, but faster than one would have thought, and about 10 times faster than my mom's 90 auto Escort...

Of course, I also ran the **** outta that car and it got a cracked head....

Putting on things to make your car look better does not classify as "rice"....it means you just care how your car looks. For instance, i need a new hood for my 1983 Camaro Z28 and I am getting a hood that has the molding of the old Corevette hoods that have air induction....because it will look ****in awesome. That does not make my car a "rice" car by any means. It just means I want my car to look more unique and mean. (which it will with the hood)Of course I am not suggesting just dressing up the outside and putting a cool air kit on the engine and calling it a performance car....i am dropping a 350cc with 350hp into it and it already has a 350Turbo Tranny in it. The engine and performance is far more important than the looks but adding things to the car to enhance the appearance is a good thing. (im not talking about 3' faggoty spoilers and euro taillights...those suck)

How do you like that 350 turbo tranny? Does it make a big difference?

I'm sure it'd be nice but I like having overdrive for gas mileage.... (when I'm not gunnin' it around town)

nah....

look at the new 02 dodge rams.

can get those with 20's. looks like *** in my opinion. i also never understood why the off-road rams could be had with 17's on them. aldo, those new ram owners think dubs are cool, wait till they have to replace a tire. can't get them at walmart.... heh they not be cheap.

former coworker tried to order one, they told him the rims weren't available again until next year. he ended up cancelling his order.

yeah, it was hilarious. he had beaten a mid 80s Monte SS the night before (bad driver in the Monte obviously), and was bragging about it the next day. so i had to redeem the carbed 305s and called him out. it was SOOOOO rewarding seeing him push that turd off the street.

:hail: LG4!

I really don't like that bright RED racing stripe on that MAROON-ish car though. Bleck.

well, it's rice - ish,

the rice roots are still there but there is chunks of american beef, car could go either way, could turn into a passable daily driver or could up root and end up in a paddy field full of rice, i fear the latter

rice = any car that isn't fast, never was built to be fast, but has ghey **** like enormous spoilers, improper badging, fart bumble bee exhaust to try and "trick" someone into thinking it's fast. Unfortunately, the only people fooled by this ruse are other ricers, and they live in their little world of idiocy with their heads up their *** and wouldn't be any wiser to how crappy and slow their cars are if they lost every race they've ever attempted (which they usually do). while 90% of ricers are imports, any car, even a Camaro can be riced out, although ricing out muscle cars and performance vehicles angers the car gods and embarrasses tuners.

don't foreget the swerving in and out of heavy traffic almost causing accidents, thinking they are the shiznits stunnas who are only recognized by other shiznits stunnas with their geo metros saying they do the 1/4 mile in 13 to 15 seconds when it's really their 60 ft time. I almost got hit today by some rsx street racer, or should I say, some punk who thinks cutting 3 lanes of traffic while speeding is street racing.
