raced the new civic si and a porshe . . .

the civic race:
yea so the other night this civic si pulls in this parking lot my friends and i hang out in and he looks at my car and wanted to race me-i asked if that was his civic and he said yea-he had nothing done to it-came right from the dealership (its stick, 2.0 doch) so we go to this spot and the first one that makes it past the bend in the road wins it-it was about a striaght 1/2 mile strech i'd say,
so the light turns green, and his as$ took off before me-bad start, but i caught up to him and beat him-but barely-he was at the back of my door at about 80 mph! and stood there till after the bend in the road-
it was a pretty decent race-the kid wasn't a dick, and i got another kill for my record!

the porsche race:
sunday night i went down to nanuet NY, there is a car show up there sundays and wednesdays. anyways, this old 80's porshe 911 maybe (not a 944 or 928) pulls up and throws some revs at me, its a 2 lane rd. (keep in mind that all my friends are in their cars following behind me so they saw EVERYTHING!) so he takes off, swerving through cars of speeds past 60 on a 40mph road so i took off swerve through 3 cars and hes now on the right and i'm on the left gaining on him, i catch up to him and then got in front of him and pass him doing 100mph! and this car was hooked up he had extended rear wheel well-the whole rear of the porsche was extended on both sides! i have no clue what the hp is on the car or if he did any engine work, but when my friends and i finally met in the parking lot, they all were shocked that i killed him! this has to be the best kill to brag about, knowing your friends saw it!!!!

nice job dude. Do you have any pics of your car with the headlight conversion? I'd like to see it. Did you hear about the NJ 3rd gen meeting? Check out the NE board under Dukes Island Park Meet. Maybe I'll see you there.

They dont make Civic SI's anymore and the SI's they did make came with 1.6 liter DOHC motors, not 2.0's. Late 80's/early 90's preludes are the only hondas i know of that came with 2.0 liter motors.

Yeah they do...

They still make 2 door coupe civic Si's with 160 hp from the factory. My friend has a 2001 model that I drive quite often, ran 15.8 stock. He has a real Cold air intake and a dynomax muffler and a short shifter. It's slammed about 2-3 inches on 17's. It's a clean car and it's pretty quick, I could chirp 3rd gear in it when it had 15's on it. It's not rice at all, just clean, and it doesn't fart, I told him what muffler to get and he got it and put a tasteful tip on the, I think most of you guys would think it's just a clean rice, not a assclown type R car.
Anyway, I don't know why you guys are saying that you woulda laughed if he got beat by the honda, cause an Si like my friends could probably beat a bunch of the thirdgens around. If I get a bad launch, he can keep up with my car thru 1st, If I give him a 2-3 car lead, I catch him at the top of 2nd. His car probably runs a 15.3 -15.5 now, thats not slow. In the full quarter, I kill him by at least 12 lengths though.

1984' Z-28: L-69 bored .030 over to 310 c.i. 204/214 .420/.442 cam, Edelbrock: intake, 600cfm carb, open element w/ holley powershot filter, aluminum water pump, valve covers Accel: coil, cap, rotor, wires MSD 6A, Hurst Shifter Edelbrock TES headers, gutted cat, 2.5inch back to a Flowmaster 2 chamber
T-5 w/3.73's and 255/50/16's on GTA wheels

The 02 Civic SI's are the hatch version with the same engine found in the Base RSX. 160Hp, I-vtec, variable length intake manifold. The Civic R would have had the 200 HP engine found in the RSX-S, but I doubt that will ever show up on these shores..

The 2 door coupes are no longer si's, they can no longer be found with B16A engines in them. Instead the Si gets a K20A3..

Good kill on the Si, i'm pretty sure racing it isn't the proper way to break it in.. But I guess if you plan on racing then losing would be the proper way to break in a civic..

Yes they do>>>

I went to the Honda dealership sbout 2 months ago, my girl drives a honda and she needed to get a key made, and I saw in person a black Civic si 2 door Coupe, 2003 model. maybe they got different engines in them, but they still make 2 door Coupe Si's.

Thats alot of posts.

I'm telling you, they stopped making the Si in that model.

2001 was the last year of the SI coupe, now it is all hatch back.. They redisigned the civic too.. Did you notice that? Even the 2 door coupes look different (worse IMO).. If you want to go into facts just look it up on honda's website..

Of course, that doesn't mean that they didn't slap an SI badge on a non SI model.. But we all know that is a little to ***** for the factory..

They do not make the SI in a coupe anymore. They are all hatchback. Remember though alot of people put emblems on cars that they shouldn't. Especially ricers

I thought all GTA's had 350 motors. Why does yours have a 305 TPI instead of a 350 TPI?

almost forgot to say . . .yes it was a 2.0 liter engine cause i opened his hood to see what was under there, second, they only make the hatchbacks-no more coupes, third, that car is quick-don't be fooled-its very very light and its stick, and finally and most important which is still cool . . . i beat a freekin porsche!!!

the coupe civic si's were only available in 99-00,
unless you live in canada, then their si, is the same as our ex, and they have an SiR those are the EK model civics, the new ones, the EM civics (2001 and on) do not have a 2 door si coupe in the states, starting in 2002, they made the si hatch for the us, it has the base rsx motor.
based on motor trend info, they were slower than tiburon gt v6's. honda really dropped the ball on this car- they are ugly, and slow, and don't have the same following as the si coupe

good kills, though

I've lost to a civic before in my firehawk at the track. He ran a 13.2@112 mph and made me look silly. I think I ran a 13.9 that run too. So it wasn't pretty. Honestly though it's good to see they're atleast making their cars faster and not just putting appearance mods on their cars and leaving the stock 1.6 non v-tech motor with a fart can. That's the **** that makes me shake my head at those idiots.

RSXs come with 2.0L I4s but they are pushovers, though running low 15s is impressive for a honda. nice kills though man. You should've torn that Si apart, but I will buy the bad launch. I ran a 2000 Si, gave him about car length lead and blew his doors off at 60 MPH. It's funny hearing that buzz bomb exhaust straining and squealing as he tries to keep up but simply keeps getting further and further away. I guess he's gonna go back an put a body kit on his car because that foot tall wing and fart pipe didn't give him enough power to beat a 13 year old car that gave him a car length lead

NICE KILLS, but was am i right to say that you think you only got up to 80mph in a 1/2 mile stretch or is it that you were watching the road and thats probably about how fast you were going, because thats the only way i can think you beat the SI by so little, not trying to dawg on you maybe it was a warm night and i was just wondering.

IROC-Z5.7TPI, I think I ment to put a 1/4 mile strech man-just noticed it! He took off quicker before me, I caught up to him, and started to pull on him-the road goes straight for a 1/4 mile or so, until it starts to bend(thats where the race ends), I beat him to the bend-and the front of his car was at the back of my door.

***Update!!!**** So I went to Englishtown last Sunday w/ my car crew I got going over here (14 strong!!!) and the kid in the si tagged along, my friend who wasn't there to see the race asked him who won-guess what he says!?!?!? "Well he won(me) but not by far, I had a lot of stuff in my car, and wasn't ready for the race; if I race him again I can kick the firebirds ***" After I heard that, I walked up to him and said, If it was a money race, you would have already handed me my money b!tch! I was even thinking of asking him to join us, but that disgusted me! I guess some ricers just don't get it, don't mess w/ american muscle, or you'll get your *** handed to you!!!
One more thing, I'm gonna post new pics of my car thursday here, got stripes on her about a month and a half ago, just didn't have the chance to put 'em up

lol, typical ***** excuses. *** at least he didn't say "well my car makes more HP per liter" lol. what an ***, he got owned and can't even admit it. you should race him again, and continue to kick his *** in front of larger audiences, get it on tape and then it'll really shut him up.
