how did my 2.8 bi***slap a new mitsu 3000gt?

last night My girlfriend and i rolled up on this 3000gt at a light, of course i had to give it a rev and see if the fool wants to play, i ended up racing to about 60 mph and getting about 1/2 a car lenght on him before we hit the next light. after that light we had a good stretch, it stayed neck and neck at the start, but by the time i hit about 90mph i had like 2 carlenghts on him, and still pulling away from him...but wtf? i thought those mitsubishi 3000GT's were quick as hell, how did my 6 cyl. RS with just a flowmaster beat his ***, he looked like he knew what he was doing, and my girlfriend said it sounded like his was a manual tranny too, i guess i was just surprised with the victory, but the unexpected wins are the ones i love the most...

Ummm sure...

If you raced a 3000 GT and it was a VR4(assuming that it was manual) than you win.... . Those were low 14's with a good driver. Even the base model pushes over 222 hp, and 201 ft/lbs torque. Those stats in a 3200 lbs car equals a 15's with a 5 spd. So again I say you earn a . The only way you could beat him is if he was not racing.

The base level 3000 gt's suck ***. The VR4's on the other hand are fairly quick.

yeah, ive seen VR4's go 13.8 stock. the SL's and the base models are slooooow. completely destroyed an SL in the rock, but that must be one fast 2.8

DO you really wanna know why you won? It's simple, the guy in the Mit 3000 didn't know how to drive stick!

Mitsubishi 3000 SL's pull 17's at my local track, i have seen plenty of 2.8's run in the 17's and 16's. good kill! everyone that made fun of him in this post or told him the other guy wasnt racing needs to grow up.

yeah, its not like my title was " i whip 3000gts all the time" i was shocked enough to post about it, i dont know **** about those cars, or whats the performance model or anything, when i rolled up to the light i figured he was gonna spank me like a deutch dominatrix, especially with a little ***** kid driving it, it was fun tho, and like you said, a good kill for an RS
-Smokin'-
PSI just ignore these kids when they try to disprove or insult every post, eventually they would get bored and go away, hopefully

nice kill man...

0-60...the base model is not very fast...
they make most of the power in the high rpms

and yeah ive beaten this dodge stealth...from a start
i dont race him from a roll though..

my 2.8 mods are below...

i tried once with a VR4 from a roll...he made me look as though
i was going in reverse...but there is also another 3000GT base model in town with VR4 stickers (also a bunch of HKS stickers - the idiot challenged me on my bike... after he lost to me like trainlengths on the bike he confessed...) ..lol u never know what to expect...

I drove a '93 3KGT SL for awhile,it was 218hp it was fairly quick for a V6 in a heavy car,you might have got the guy with the off the line torque or it was a base model which has 165hp...very weak. my guess is that the guy was playing with you if he was driving an SL or VR-4 or just had no clue what he was doing. I took down some mustange GTs and some V8 thirdgens and V6 fourthgens with my SL. racing a base model stealth or 3KGT is just a waste of time! I'd like to think that you did indeed race a VR-4 (twin turbo DOHC 3.0 V6,AWD) and the dude just wasn't skilled enough to get it moving..

Yea! Grow up! SHAME ON YOU FOR THINKING THAT SOMEONE WOULD LIE ON THE INTERNET! I mean I beat Lamborghinis and Ferrari's all the time around here, and I run an 82 with a stock iron duke that's out of tune.
Anyway, the original poster didn't say whether it was a VR4, which I'm sure everyone would agree would have no problem manhandling even the most heavily modded 2.8L or a base model which he might have a chance with. Might being the operative word as if it was one of the newer ones they are a bit better of a platform than the older ones. I'm sure you'll try to flame me for saying this though, so :lala: :lala:

Good kill!!! People have to remember that a non VR-4 3000gt is FWD. FWD+161hp= RS win.

dont worry about the bs flags, that happens whenever a car beats another that people dont think could have won. Some people dont think about the many variables of street racing and SO WHAT IF HE SUCKS AT DRIVING????? a KILL is a KILL . I have a hard time getting people to believe when i beat lt1 camaros, i get the "are you sure that they were racing" all the time. dont sweat it and good kill

Is the topic not "HOW did my 2.8..."? I think it is. And people said that the other guy must not have been trying. Sounds like an answer explaining HOW the 2.8 won... duhhh...
