imouer: Got the Xpipe and took a test ride with a new tighter blower belt and T5!
NicTrickFlow5pt0: how'd it feel
imouer: Easily 12s
NicTrickFlow5pt0: that big of a difference?
imouer: HUGE
imouer: can keep the DRs planted in any gear
NicTrickFlow5pt0: the dyno tune is next week?
imouer: there is no way you could take me now Nic
NicTrickFlow5pt0: you think?
NicTrickFlow5pt0: wanna put money on it?
imouer: positive
NicTrickFlow5pt0: how much you wanna put on it
imouer: $1000
NicTrickFlow5pt0: that'll buy me a new shortblock...you're on
NicTrickFlow5pt0: next friday night?
imouer: I couldnt take your money bro
NicTrickFlow5pt0: lol, man i'd be happy to take yours :-D
We're not going to race for $1000, even though I'd be happy to take it off his hands. Who do you think is going to pull it off? Here's our specs:
Me - 1989 LX 5.0 coupe, TFS Twisted Wedge heads, TFS Track Heat intake, TFS stage 1 cam (.499/.510, 221/225), 1.6 roller rockers, Performance Automatic supercomp C4 w/3500 stall converter, 4.10's. Race weight of 2910 w/driver
Him - 1994 GT convertible, Procharger P1SC w/14# pulley, Cobra intake, 1.7 roller rockers, T5 w/B&M shifter, 3.73's. Race weight of ~ 3500 lbs w/driver
We've both got all the supporting bolt-ons like bigger TB, mass air flow sensors, etc. and both run on drag radials.

Man thats gonna be a close race I would say. You will def. take him off the line with the 4.10s and the 3500rpm stall converter. But I am gonna say your gonna win because you prob have more horsepower, you weight a lot less and plus just because he said 12s doesn;t mean you run 12s. I know people that say it "feels" like they run something but then when they take it to the track the time is totally different. Anyways good luck and please let me know the results.

I agree 84 HO,
There is a Explorer with Saleen Stickers Made Up For it and a mustang exhaust and he thought he was going to run 13 with his new shift kit he came back and said oh i only ran 17.4....hahahahah

I would say you simply because even if he is capable of running 12's he hasn't been driveing the car like that for long (unlike you) so will more than likely not have as great a launch and probably not shift quite up to the max. Besides the foxbody weighs a fair bit less than his so you automatically have an advantage.

Seems like a close race to judge. I would think that the Procharger would put that Stang into the 12's easily with Drag Radials. I say Nic wins because of the weight difference and he is gonna get a better launch.

I'm surprised nobody voted for him.
I'm not really too worried about him, he might have me by about 50 horsepower, but I've got him by 600 lbs and I've got the traction advantage.

Well he's having "issues" so we didn't get to race. He's getting his car dyno tuned next friday, so I think he's trying to put it off for that. I'm not too worried...so long as it's over before 115 mph

My friend rode with him tonight and says it's falling flat on its face at the top of 2nd but that otherwise it felt as strong as my car but not as quick. I think he might get me after he gets it tuned this friday.

Race should be happening this saturday. I got a chance to ride with him last night and unless his car picks up a WHOLE lot from the dyno tune it won't be much of a contest.

Well...he got his dyno tune...325 hp/375 ft lbs. of torque to the wheels. Said he put down 370 ft. lbs. by 2700 rpm and that the guy who tuned his car said he'd be be in the 11's on slicks. Was going to race him after the show today, but...he broke 3 wheel lugs on his way to the show today from not tightening his wheel spacers down good enough. I don't think this race is going to happen

I know there's no way in hell he'll be in the 11's. Just restating what he told me. He's pretty confident, but stuff conveniently keeps coming up to put it off Here's an excerpt of the kind of **** he's talking on our club's forum:
Once I learn to rox this puppy, I will bend ALL of you (in this thread) over and OWN you now. Of this fact, I have little doubts with grip (and a good driver), I should have a low 12 car or better.
