I'll take a '71 426 HEMI 'Cuda convertible. It may not be THE fastest, but it's more power than I know how to deal with! I'm 17 though, and have to settle with a V8 T/A. Poor me!

The vette 0-60's in 1.9 seconds...which is 1.4sec faster than 650R, 1.2sec faster than 800TT
AND
1/4 mile's in 9.2 seconds...which is 2sec faster than 650R, 1 sec faster than 800TT
just my $.02

Unless Hennessey made a few different modded vipers, I remember their Viper TT running a 0-60 in 2.54, w/ a 1/4 in the 9's.

The GTO is coming with a "worked" LS1. In other words, more powerful than the current one. By how much, I have no idea...

Car: too many ...
This new version (2004) of the GTO will be based of the Holden Monaro from Australia. LS1 powerplant rumored to be around 350hp and a T56 6 speed RWD ...
I think they will be great. The LS1/T56 already has a large aftermarket following, and in Australia the Monaro has been around for a while so styling parts are already out there that will fit. I dont really like the front end, but with an Australian bodykit and some engine work (maybe a turbo kit?!) and this could be one badass car.

i kinda like the look of the GTO's but not the head lights or the grill, the grill rembinds me of those like other grand prix or something like that.

i dont think pontiac is going to make a new GTO shown above. i belive their going to just rebadge the monaro which sucks the gto design looks alot better. every one has talked about alot of bad a$$ cars but noone said anything about the 69 zl-1 camaro or vette those were like 11-10 sec cars right out of the box. (or factory)

In honor of September 11th send this to 11 people by 9:11 tonight and you will recive some sort of message on September 11th in honor of your good doing. If you do not send this to 11 poeple by 9:11 tonight you will have to live with the guilt in your heart reminding you that you didnt take a few minutes out of your day and help others remember

my two cents
i have a simple response for that and that is BLOW ME! i know i might step on some toes here but... hear me out. i dont have to send a stupid chainletter to show everyone how patriotic i am. well we can tell that you jumped on the patriotic bandwagon. because i doubt you even know about all the horrible terrorist acts that happen all the time and on those dates do you send out these stupid letters, what about khobar towers, port aden with the uss cole, even pearl harbor... i bet you dont. and it's not like we all forgot about the horrible event that happened on 9/11 it's been pounded into are heads every day. i'm not trying to sound like a jerk...I do feel bad, but what can I, or anyone else do? sending out chain mail doesn't help anyone...it just wastes time...save your energy for something better...like being with your family, working on your car...or something else. To you (Mr. Chain-letter writer...wanna make a real difference to all those people who dies? Join the military...I'd bet you wouldn't last the first week. They don't let ya write too many letters in boot camp.)

yeah....it's really comforting to see that we've reduced what happened last year to something that dumbasses use to circulate a F*CKING CHAIN LETTER. wow...that pisses me off.

hey, look at the dancing bear.... the zl1 and other cars such as yenko and baldwin motion cars were f**kin gods, no mustang gt500 or mach 1, or boss, could touch that. people say the gt500-kb or something like that is faster then the regular gt500, but no where near as close.. the zl1 is the baddest camaro ever..

I hope everyone knows that there are different types of "Street Legal Cars". Most old 7 second muscle cars are "Historic" so they are considered street legal. The "True" street legal king of the road is the Lingenfelter TT Corvette which runs 9's all day and can be driven anywhere. But as far as the stock fastest cars are concerned the new Viper will have the tittle for a while with the ZO6 on his @ss the whole way!

That 'vette is bad ***.
John Colletti promised that the GT40 would make the Viper look like an earth worm, so we'll see when that comes out. I can't wait to see what they'll do with a few mods, but I doubt many people will own them, muchless race them.

yea i read that gt40 thing, it was in response to when dodge rolled out with the srt-10... chevy better get there a-ss movin, they lost there only compition to the mustang, the vette is bad, but the viper is king, and both other car comps. have a truck that will haul a-ss and all they come up with is a lame *** silvarado and a ssr... wtf is that, they cant beat the lightning or the srt 10, there just there to look good. the only thing GMs got for them is the GTO, but thats to expensive to be a mustang chaser, to slow to be a viper killer, and it aint a truck.... so...what is gm to do

To make matters worse, I also heard that Dodge is planning (or thinking?) to release their new Charger. Ok, so the F-Body may have been a dated design, but to pull it without anything to fill the gap? Clever.

From what I've heard the F-body is definitely not done for good. I was told that Chevrolet just wanted to shut down the plant that they were making them in and move production to somewhere else but that it would take a few years to build the new plant. Anyone else hear this?

I think that would make sense Nic. But as it was going, the Fbody's just weren't selling too well either so it could be a number of things. It's strange though because they say that the camaro and firebird weren't selling good but whenever I go driving I see hundreds of fourthgens everywhere! Oh, does anyone know what the GT40 will look like? Will it look like the old gt40 restyled or like the new mustangs? Just wondering!

It's going to look like the old GT40 only a little wider and a little longer. I've seen it in person and all I can say is...

I would say the Hennessey Venom 800, with 833 hp and 0-60 time of 2.4 sec,( this is from motor trend magazine people. If you want to read it online go to motortrend.com and look for the car, the whole thing is there along with some awsome pics, but the point is that this car can do much better than 3.1 sec to 0-60
wow they even folded the mirrors back for that run.

Well the thing is I only count cars I can fit in, Im 6' 4" maybe 6' 5" now but I can't fit in the corvettes I sat in one once and my head was out of the top, ( so if I had gotten in one with a top I woudl have been hitting my head) I mean seriously the top of my head was an ince above the windshield. I love the corvette but they are to light and I read an article about a guy that has one and a ferrari but at 150MPH the vette feels totaly unsafe and the ferrari feels like your doing 70. I just feel that the viper is more of a car than the vette, the vette is more of a joy ride toy( both of them are but the Viper is just better in my opinion, more room for the driver and more room for lugage. But true the light corvette can out do a viper with acceleration with the twin turbo. Humm to bad they did not use a supercharger on that 800.

Nobody has said a word about the svsi viper. It is freakin fast, and thats a understatment. they went to the bonneville salt flats to take a shot a the land speed record in their class. Plus the paint job of the american flag on the car is wicked.

sorry to be a post ***** but you know......sometimes you just gota say WTF.
I would take this over any of the three modded or stock.
At 19 lbs. of boost its makin almost 400 hp. it would smoke anything.
AND stock they run 9's!!!!
I want one real bad.

I sat in a Viper without the top on, and my head stuck out. The vette's top kinda bubbles a little bit and provides the head room. You'd be fine.

I don't know man I"m gonna have to go with that new Geo prizm... it's packing a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder and rated at 125 horsepower and 125 ibs of torque.... I tell you that 18 is gonna blow everyone away. oh and lets not forget it's optional 3 speed automatic transmission... woooo let's not even go there....
(heh heh heh don't listen to me)
seriously I think the new venom viper 500 might be one of the fastest. I mean 500 horsepower 500 cubic inches and 500 pounds or torque really is something. But I it wieghs almost 3500 pounds while the corvette zo6 weighs only about 3200 pounds... so I think they might both be in a tie against the normal viper with normal 450 horsepower viper. alright that's my 2 cents hope it was worth it and made some semse

I don't know why everyone thinks the GTO is so heavy. It weighs 3600lbs..that's the average weight for most new T/A's and stangs. With a LS1 in it that can't make it that slow.
