Interesting race tonight with an Audi TT

We were out cruising around in my friends 5.0 Mustang when an Audi TT (don't know anything more than that, silver compact car probably 2002. The roof looked really low on the car?) wanted to race my friend. They raced and the Audi won so I said follow me to my house and we will switch cars.

I got into my camaro and went to a road behind my house where it is straight for at least a mile. I told him we would race from a roll around 20 mph. We went and I was taking him the whole time through 1st and 2nd gear by about a 1/2 car length then I shifted too soon, 64-6500 rpms instead of 6900 where I shifted before. He then pulled on me from there. He was now right on my front fender. I then pulled a tad more until about we were about 2-3 feet even (Don't know the speed, my 110 mph was buried) and then let off as there was a turn coming up ahead so I wanted to slow down.

The guys seemed cool though, we talked for a couple seconds afterwards, he said it was a tough race and coulda gone either way. He actually just called me (gave him my # earlier) and said we would have to go again sometime.

This was the first opportunity to open my car up since I got rid of the muffler that blew out at the track and it seemed to help performance a good deal. Man, I wish I wasnt selling the engine!!

Those audis are 15 second cars, 0-60 in the 6s at best unless he's got some work done to it. Shouldn't stand a chance against your engine. What do you run at the track?

Not too sure if it was stock or not. Whats hurting me is gears, exhaust, and some carb tuning. I should probably go with 4.10's and a 4 icnh exhaust, but my friend is buying the engine so I will have to finish it on his car.

Ya... the car is nowhere near the potential of that motor right now. Keep in mind though, if you'd have had 4.10s at the higher speeds... I dunno if it woulda helped you or not. But the exhaust... thats gotta go! Sucka can't exhale!

I've been missing all this stuff lately... did you goto rt 8 I assume?

4.10's would help alot, even at higher speeds, not as much, but my engine loves to rev high though so its no problem.

I did go on route 8, but I already told you about that.

I had an Audi TT try to come up behind me. I was doing 55 MPH in a 55 zone and he was coming up going at least 70. I let him get close then dropped it in 2nd gear and took off, I couldn't even tell you how many car lengths I pulled on him just up til 90 MPH.
