How fast is a V-6 "GT" Fiero with intake, exhaust, gears?
Met a guy at the illegals that wants to do a money race tommorow night for $50. Of course he's running nitrous and my car is all motor.............but I'm pretty sure that car came with a pathetic 2.8 V6. How fast could it be with a little intake, exhaust, and gears? His nitrous is a 50 shot. Oh, and I'm supposed to race him in my camaro (I talked some smack and said even my girlfriends "weak" camaro could romp on modified ricers), which should be a cakewalk since I've heard rumors of him going into the 14's (just barelY) and the camaro should be well into the 14's (14's uncorrected for 3,100 ft. Tucson). I honestly have never seen a Fiero modified.......so I'm not sure how its gonna go. If all else fails I just run him in one of MY cars (camaro is my GF's car) and eat his *** for big block caddy breakfast

I don't know if I'd call the 2.8 in the Fiero pathetic. In the 1980's, I taught a fews guys a lesson in my stock Fiero. ...also took alot of people for cash.
Without knowing details, he could be anywhere from 14-flat to mid 15's. Given your mods, it will be a good race.
Just remember the first rule of street racing for money - it's not the mods that you know about that you worry about. It the mods that you don't know about.

ill warn you on fieros. the v6 stock in prob in the 14's , i drove one. and if her got NOS and intake and better gears , if he sprays he could win. the curb weight is only like 2000 or so lbs. Depending on how he has done things dont be suprised if he wins

Race him with your quickest car (since it's for money) and report back. If he's reported to be in the high 14's, he may be ******* it to bait people. That's what I used to do with my Fiero...

i really doubt a stock 2.8L Fiero is in the 14s. id say high 15s at best. it only has 140hp. i didnt know they made aftermarket parts for them, so i cant guess on what an intake and a exhaust would do for one, but a 50 shot might get it into the low 15s

I agree with tpivette89, the best I've heard from that car is mid 15s. A lot of them are probably not in the best of conditions anyways. Even with intake, exhaust, and a 50 shot you should still take him considerably with your 12.9 formula.
Good luck on the race and tell us the outcome.

If you don't want people to know what you have than tell them that. I just don't see the point of straight out lying unless it's someone being way too cocky.
I was cruising one night trying to find the illegals and some 5.0 mustang owner comes up and wanted to race. I told him that my cars stock and he said so was his. I really didn't want to but I did it anyways for fun. He ended up just leaving like I was standing still. He told me that his car ran 14 flat stock sorry for the rambling. (just venting past frustrations). :lala:

I was spending time on the fiero board (www.fiero.nl) some time ago and they said the cars are around 3000-3200lbs
not 2000

Ok curb weight is 2600lbs plus a few for the auto and 2500lbs plus a few for manual. 135hp @ 4400rpm 165ftlbs@ 3600 rpm. That should help all of this.

Uh, read my sig. That 12.9 is a LOT slower than it is now, at least 6 tenths, that was my old ****ty setup and stock heads. I wouldn't even race him in the bird, thats a waste of gas Going out tonight with the Grand Prix to take the middle ground of things.
