25th Anniversy TransAM vs 5.0
I have the funniest storey, ok me and couple of my friends weer driven around last night, when we pulled into a parkinlot with some people we know and thears this kid I know who has a 1990 or so 5.0. Well he was bragen about how meny TA's hes killed and I was like so relly and had my buddey go home and gethis 25th Anniversy TransAm very heavely moded. Well they were sopesed to do best of 3 and after the first 2 races when the mustang go killed he just keep on driven. It was so funney. What do you guys then willl win a new TransAm ram air or a FORD lighting.

Man I am sorry I am just having trouble reading your post. You need to spell check it. A 25th ann. Firebird vs. Lightning I think the Lightning has this. It's hard to tell because you haven't said what has been done to the Trans Am or if the Lightning is modded or not. A lot of people don't keep their Lightnings stock and they respond VERY well to mods as with all stock power adder cars. Where's Nic or 5.0 they know Fords really well.

After i broke out my secret grammar decoder I see he asked if a new Ram Air TA would beat a lightning. Stock for stock that lightning is all done IMO. If the lightning is modded with just a pulley then that will be much closer.

I watched a LS1 TA blow his clutch out through his trans tunnel at SCC last weekend. Pieces of the clutch were stuck in the floor mat. Could have been his leg. I hope heavily modded also means scatter shields, drive shaft loop, etc. By the way he did that racing a Lightning and it was pretty close, the first time.

I was almost at SCC last weekend, but something came up.
Anyway,
The new trans am will win. Most lightnings I have seen run mid/high 13's. At the track there are a few more modded ones that run lower 13's...but they are uncommon.
New T/A's can be pretty quick

Anyone care to tell me what's special about a 25th aniversary Trans Am? Is it modded a bit more? More HP than the factory? Or is it like those 25th aniversary Mustangs and is just an emblem and nothing else done to it?

Mustang 5L5: I can tell you that it has 10 hp less than my 96 Formula. And yes, it was nothing more than a sticker and badge package. (unless you count the five star rims)

Funny thing is, if you tell someone they cant drive, they get offended, EVERYONE THINKS they are a good driver...kinda funny

I am a bad driver. There I said it. :-). Seriously though your right. Very few people think they are poor track drivers and launching a truck correctly would probably be much more difficult than launching a T/A.

hehe man i dont know, i raced a dood in a ss vert 6spd and that guy could drive. hehe, my buddy in his low 12 stang with me driving i would drive a mid 12 with it thats how good he is. i dont consider myself the best stick driver, but i do know that i dont need a tach and/or shiftlight like some people. so i assume im above average, not good or i wouldnt pull 2.2 60s grrrrrr
stock i pulled a 2.0 tho which was pretty nice = )

The owner: a. lied or b. believed the horseschit the car salesman was selling. No special "racing chip" came with them.
