Where does the single wire connector coming from the EGR valve go to? I need an exact location(really good details) or better a pic. I have an 89 GTA 305 TPI with a 5 speed. I tried looking for it like 20 min while putting the TPI back on after a cam swap and I looked a few more times since then, I can't find anything on the wiring harness. I've just been driving w/o it, no problems, but I imagine it might help my gas mileage and would really like to get it connected.

Beast,
If the wire you are asking about is the single black wire, it is from the diagnostic temperature switch on the base of the EGR. Having that disconnected will not prevent EHR operation but will set an error code when cruising at highway speeds. The single wire connector to the ECM should be near the distributor.

I believe it is a little farther towards the passenger side than the distributor. I'll try to look tonight and let you know tomorrow (I'd say sooner, but won't have computer access til the morning).

Yeah it's that temp sensor wire, I'll look around that area. Thanks, damn wire can reach about anywhere in the engine bay, but that should narrow it down enough for me. rear of the engine and probably pass. side. Thanks.

Well, I tried to trace where it came from to take a pic, but couldn't get very far (fading daylight wasn't helping much). It looked like the wire was black on the EGR valve side of the single weatherpack connector, and green on the wiring harness side. Best I can say is it came from somewhere in the area down under the coil.
