Geat different gears in the rear end. That makes your car MUCH chicker. I got 3.73's so i can still cruise at high speeds on the highway but if u want your car to be even quicker get like 4.56's or something....otherwise get a 350...

I would recommend going to the TBI board, they are the resident experts. But in my modest experience, a good exhaust system is usually the first thing to do. Welcome to the ThirdGen message board

Wasn't this asked on the Tech boards, all your questions are answered there, unless I'm mistaken.

I have a friend who put a LT1 cam in his L03, and it woke it up pretty good.

get something that will keep you in your power band, 3.73's are as steep as you would want to go for sure.

Careful rx7speed, he's new and might think you're being serrious. Plus you forgot the trash can exhaust and TYPE-R stickers.

Don't forget the dustpan chin spoiler, the black hood, the windsheild washer LED's, single 22" windsheild wiper and the shopping cart handle!

That has to be some of the worst advice I've ever heard, 3:42s would probably be the best for your setup.

Good points, though I prefer the new light up exhaust tip at Autozone, I put 2 on my car, and I'll get pics tomorrow.

DO A TBI TO CARB SWAP. ITS EASY AND IT'LL GIVE YOU SOME MORE POWER AND A BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE. AND IT LOOKS A HELL OF A LOT COOLER THAN FUEL INJECTION YOU'LL NEED AN EGR INTAKE EDLEBROCK SELLS ONE FOR LIKE $130 OR $140 AND THEN GET A CARB. A 600 SHOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH. ALSO IF YOU HAVE AC JUNK IT. ITS ONLY DEAD WEIGHT. YOU'LL NEED AN AC ELIMINATOR BRACKET OFF A LIGHTWEIGHT 1LE OR I THINK THIER ARE A COUPLE OF OTHER MANUFACTUERERS THAT SELL ONE.

Before you do anything decide how fast do you want to be?

What is your budget?

How long can you take building this thing up?

First thing to look at is exhaust. Then you can do simple things like K&N Air filters and such.

Of course a proper tune up is a great idea too!

You'll also have to address the TC lockup problem if you go that route with an auto.

I admit I do not know much about the TBI setups but I always thought that a EFI system would result in better power and better throttle response. the EFI setup is better able to get the a/f ratio better and closer to on target.
then with a carb setup since the venturi is able to be used over a wide band it is only fairly efficient in a smaller rpm range so outside that range you fuel will be pulled in sparadic and will hurt throttle responce, as well as throw your a/f off a bit
and the venturi does create a restriction inside the intake system.

sorry I am hjalf asleep when trying to write this
didn't even ****, shower, or shave yet.
