how big of a difference do the slotted rotors make then regular rotors? do they increase stopping power? is it worth it?

they are actually worse for stopping on the street.........get yourself a good set of pads.....if you dont believe me call these guys http://www.praisedynobrake.com/index2.htm
also read the faq on their site.i run their pads and they stop my car like nobodys business

I have heard that cross drilled are out of date. the cross dilling (just holes), give room for brake gasses to escape, but I have heard that new brake pads dont do that like they used to...I dunno fer sure, I just read it somewhere (maybe it was here, on the suspension forum..i dunno)... just my 2 cents!

The ceramic compounds stop as well or better than carbon-metallics, and with a lot less dusting. They do tend to cut up the rotors a bit more, and make a little more noise. Either one is a good friction material.

after checking into this recently with alot of research along with trial and error, the cross drilled and slotted rotor's are the better one's. they can have a tendency to crack, but it's not as common as most use a coating now to prevent that. on a race type rotor they can get away without the same cooling since they not only have brake ducting, but they also have brake rotors made of material able to withstand more heat and not fade or warp. the ceramic pads seem to work great and get rid of two of the cabon metalic pad's issue's that being brake dust and cold braking. unfortunatly at really high temperature's the ceramic's aren't quite as good. as with the rotors, stopping from 30, stock to cross drilled and slotted is hardly different, but the higher the speed the better the cross drilled and slotted do. for just street driving ceramic and stock type rotors do great, but for true performance driving carbon metalic and cross drilled and slotted rotors are the way. it all depends on how you drive and what you'd like to spend.
