I've changed mine twice in 10 years-150,000 miles, most gas pumps have pretty good filters in them these days so unless you get lots of water condensation in your tank every 50,000 miles should be more than enough. Some cars and trucks these days have the filter in the tank so you have to take the tank out to change it, I guess some manufacturers must thank you will never need to change it.

hello, g.m. suggest's fuel filter changed every 30k miles. that filter in the tank is called a fuel pump strainer. it prevents small pebbles from ruining the fuel pump. i replace the fuel pump strainer everytime i replace a fuel pump (thats the only time i ever replace the strainer in the tank.) best of luck, tom

I just bought a glass fuel filter for my 84z28. This way, you can just look at it and see if it is dirty. The glass filter was like ten bucks, but the filters you stick in it are like 6 bucks for a 3 pack. Not bad, plus it looks cool as hell. But then again, I have the inline one that is right beside the carb. Yours I think is up under the car.:lala:

Real car????? How about a 350 .30 0ver with an edelbrock 650 4bb edelbrock intake and headers. 480 lift comp cam. Accel super coil and high performance header plugs. Power traxx locking rear with 373 gears. heads are ported, decked, polished and have a 3 angle valve job. Daul flowmaster exhaust. By the way, what does lol j/k mean??

Sorry, didn't know what lol j/k meant. THought you just thoght I had the stock 305 in my car with a pretty little glass filter on top. I wasn't mad or anything just wanted to let you know what I had in it. Runs like a raped ape, can't wait to take it to the track, the person I bought it from said it was runnin mid 12's, but that was with slicks.

jfox55, are you a little protective of your car's image? heh, I can't blame you, sounds like you have a nice setup. I usually like EFI, but this weekend I'll hate it (fuel pump's gone ).
