Misc. engine swap questions (mainly LT1)

Just a few price related questions on an LT1 swap. On average, how much would a wrecked 4th gen camaro cost? I'm considering just buying the whole thing so that I can do a multi-part swap (engine, transmission, seats, and whatever else I find useful). Other than the cost of the parts (the whole camaro if bought complete from being wrecked, just the engine and tranmission along w/ electrical components etc) how much does it cost to swap the LT1 into a 3rd gen? I've looked at the LT1 swap posts in the motor swap forum, but it looks like a huge pain in the ***. It's either swap the LT1 into my car, rebuild my already rebuilt 84 305, or buy a long block from Autozone and put that in my car. I would like to go with the LT1, but not sure if I'll have the ability to swap it in or have the funding I would need. If you had the 3 choices I have, what would you do? Would you find a 4th option? If so, what would it be?

your looking about 2500 to 3000 for one wrecked from what i've seen around here. with enough time and a full car it can be done fairly cost effective.

Other than the painless wiring harness (expensive bastard it is), what would be required to hook the LT1 up? I know the motor mounts would need slightly modified along with the cross member. So, is there anything other than that? If so, try to list as much as you can to what would be needed to swap the LT1 and get it working.

Also, how difficult would it be to hook up all of the wiring myself without the harness? If I get newer than a 93, I'm screwed because the 94-95 harness is $600 (what the hell are they thinking?! rip off bastards).
