How to wire Vette mini starter?

I have a Vette mini starter and was wondering if anyone has wired one of these onto their cars. They weigh less and are high torque units that are used on high performance engines.
Do you just take all the large terminal connections from the stock F-body starter and connect them to the large terminal on the Vette starter and take the small F-body terminal wire and connect it to the small terminal on the Vette starter?
Hope someone can shed somelight on this so I don't burn something up!

define "vette" starter. it off and LT1 right? then if so i have installed one on my 88' L98. all that is required is the two bolts to mount the starter(they are shorter) and connecting the two wires pos+ & sol wire. it's pretty much a direct replacement.
ps. it's quiter & starts up the car quicker.

Hmmmm,
i don't exactly what kind of Vette mini starter I have. I think it is from a mid 80's Vette application, but don't know the specifics of an LT1 engine. My f-body wiring harness has the pos bat wire, then two fusible links that are combined to one large terminal and then another large terminal wire that comes from the alternator, and then another small terminal wire that used to go to the small terminal on my stock f-body starter. I thought that the small terminal wire was from the key switch. Hope that the mid 80's Vette mini starter description is enough to help describe what I have. Would this be the "LT1" starter mentioned above?
HELP!

if it's off and 80's model then just bolt it on. the 80's model vette engine is just an L98 w/aluminum heads(not an LT1). it should use the old style bolt length (mine was off a 96' LT1). connect the wires where your old wires used to be connected on your starter and you will be fine. good luck.

Teach,

The positive battery cable and the two fusible link connections are supposed to connect to the large terminal on the solenoid. The remaining wire from the START circuit should connect to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. The connections should be the same as those on your original starter. The "mini-starter" is probably the gear reduction starter - the same as what was used on the LT1 family of engines, as Mystik alluded to.
