My gas pedal feels stiff and in tension??...
When I drive, and I push down the gas pedal further it feels rather stiff, as I continue to push the pedal in it feels like its rubbing or something?? My guess feels like the TV cable is too tight or too loose, but it just doesn't feel right. It hasn't felt like this before. I can just feel a tension through the pedal, like something is not lubricated?? I can't really explain it in words well, I guess it kinda like a string rubbing against a sand paper. I dunno, I don't like it, have yas had this type of probem? Whats wrong with it? How to fix it?
Oh BTW, also now when I'm braking and reach around 15 mph or so, I feel the tranny downshift. Its not a hard jerk, but ya do feel an extra slowing down, I can feel it downshift, it pulls me a little forward... kinda like how the 1-2 shift pulls ya forward then backward. It really does not feel right, feels like it just started happening. Does the 700R4 (or autos in general) suppose to downshift, when braking? Are you suppose to feel it? Any one else have this problem? How could I fix it, if I can?
Thanks a lot, all help is appreciated.

Check your throttle return spring, make sure it isn't getting kinked. Believe me it's no fun when the spring really messes up and has you stuck @WOT and trying to slow down and turn the car off.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I have the same problem... stiff pedal... I don't feel rubbing, it's just stiff... Maybe a NJ thing???
I will feel my tranny downshift when braking only every once in a blue moon... but my tranny is shot so you really can't use it for a reference... better off asking in the trans board.

Uh oh, i can feel my trans downshift when i slow down too... thats it i'm moving!!
My stock 89 trans with 100K+ does this... has been doing so since i can remember. I think all the 700R4's do it. Unlike some trans' they are always engaged. I know some cars disengage the engine from the drive wheels when you slow down (our 88 delta 88 did it) I assumed my cars behaviors were normal.
